FYI - It is a very short section of the first Agon Game, it is only an hour or so worth. It is not the full first game that was Episode 1-3 of Agon.

It can be an hour if you use a walkthrough or if you are very skilled. But if you take your time and figure out the logical puzzles yourself it will take certainly longer. And the subsequent two parts are available in a bundle for a single pirce on BFG.

What a waste! I thought I'd be getting a whole game. And, unless it's called something altogether different, there is only one more chapter on BFG, Lapland to Madagascar. I really feel cheated. frown

Edited to say, I wrote to BFG telling them what I thought about them selling a game that was only a chapter, without specifying in the ad that it's just one chapter of a few. I feel they need to specify it.

You can get a boxed version of all three episodes here for under 8 dollars.

Jean, it is clearly specified on BF. THey did not hide it at all, it's just that many do not read the title. It says London, which is episode 1. Look at MaG's walkthrough here and you can see London is first followed by Lapland and Madagascar.

I just want people who know from the adventuring community that AGON: The Myserious Codex includes all three, that this is only a short portion of that game.

On the $2.99 special it said London, but did not say it was episode 1. And generally I do not look at walkthroughs before buying a game. If it had said episode 1 on the $2.99 ad I wouldn't have bought it.

Now, if you do a search for the game it shows 1 and 2. But, it didn't show that on the ad for the $2.99 special, which it should have. That's my only point, and I wrote to them about it.

The London Scene has always been episode 1 and not 1 and 2. From Lapland to Madagascar is episodes 2 (Lapland) +3 (Madagaascar).
In fact, all the three are "full games". No secret about this, they were first published also separately in 2003.

BTW, is it really so important to save a dollar when it comes to buying an adventure game, which is a piece of art and costed many-many thousands of dollars and sometimes years of efforts to the developers? Not talking about this game only but all classic adventures. think

Big Fish will most certainly refund your credit if you do feel it was wasted. But in fact you have saved 10$ as with the Daily Deal you could buy AGON 1 plus 2-3 for less than 10$ while the trilogy (The Mysterious Codex)is downloadable from The Adventure Shop for a much higher price.

True, you could be lucky to find it on sale somewhere or for even less on The Trading Post.

I can certainly respect that you, as the developer, worked very hard on the game and it's a great series. The problem lies in the fact that the majority of our members know the game as Agon:The Mysterious Codex which is what is most commonly discussed here and I feel a fair warning to these members that this is only a portion of that. I would be doing our members a disservice to not have mentioned that. It was certainly not intended in any way to diss the game itself.

THe deal is over at this point anyways as it was only valid yesterday.

Thanks, BrownEyedTigre,
You are absolutely right mentioning that, I appreciate it.

The point I was trying to make is that there's been a misunderstanding around the AGON series and especially about The London Scene. Not here on GB of course, just as you say, but rather on the casual game forums.

It is not quite clear - why should it be - that the 14 episodes mentioned here-and-there is a future plan for the series (maybe a lifetime project) and not parts of a single title, so it should not be expected with The London Scene; that the series has 4 episodes ready as of today and they all have a separate plot.

The space for information on BFG site is indeed too short to explain the background and how to position this game (or any large file classic adventure titles). A shame because the history of the classics they offer could be really exciting and helpful in understanding these games.

This way for example certain people have the impression The London Scene was a new lite adventure and that the "rest of the episodes were missing" - which is not the case. This is a full game, this is an original version.

But actually, we are delighted to see that so many casual gamers have tried AGON and liked it. Hopefully they will all be adventure game fans sooner or later

Pilaus, I play adventure games, MMORPGs (World of Warcraft, Rift), Casual games and once in a while shooters. So I'm pretty familiar with most of the genres. I don't prefer one over the other as they all bring something different to the table.

As for saving a dollar, it makes a difference to me, when my retirement check doesn't come in for another 5 days and I only have, maybe $15 to spend on food. There needs to be a realization that the world economy today is very, very bad, and many people are suffering. Trying to get bargains for our games, when for many of us it's all we can afford for entertainment, is not trying to screw anyone over.

Many adventure gamers these days are older, retired people. When I worked I thought nothing of spending $29, $39, $49 or whatever for a game. I can't do that these days. I download cheap, buy secondhand games, and wait for prices to come down. That's the nature of today's economy.

I like Agon. But I have to pinch pennies, and, at this time, wouldn't have bought it if I only knew it was an hour's worth of play. I hope you understand where I'm coming from.

JeanK, for a developer, it's rather a compliment to have people saying "where's the rest?" I certainly didn't mean to offend you.

The economy is such as you say and the developers also feel it only too badly. Private Moon's little Hungarian studio is no exception and this is just why AGON 5 is delayed, with all screens, puzzles, graphics and dialogs ready and waiting for the miracle to happen.

So to keep AGON and Yoomurjak's Ring going we really do need fans who say "where's the rest?"
Thank you!

Agon is an very good game, from what I could see so far, which is why I was so upset. It does grab the attention.

Keep up the good work! Hopefully things will improve for all of us soon.
