Hi I'm playing Morrowind Game of the Year Edition on my WinXP machine. And I've looked in the most obvious places (as far as I know) but can't find where the saved games are stored Can anyone help, please ?? Thanks. Mad

Mad,
If you installed in the default folder they should be in C:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Saves
Right-click on the short-cut you use to start the game and look under "properties" and check the path to the executable morrowind.exe
Hope that was of some help.

Hi - And thank you both for replying However, I've already looked everywhere you are suggesting and no luck !! I feel sure last time I played the game my saves were in a Morrowind folder in "My Documents" but they're not there this time .... Cheers. Mad

Sorry Jenny, didn't mean to horn in.
When I started typing no one had answered him (lol...am a very slow typer).
Just happened to think that if he is using the Steam version they maybe somewhere else.

Mad,
Look under your My Documents for a My Games folder

Mad,
You're Welcome, glad I could help. I am in the process of learning how to Mod both Morrowind & Oblivion for my Win 7 64-bit system so that I can play them again while waiting for the new Skyrim (Elder Scrolls V) game to come out.
They are both great games, but from everything I have seen & read so far; Skyrim is going to be even better.
Have Fun!

Morrowind plays on my 64-bit Windows 7 with nary a tweak required!

Draclvr,
Sorry, did not make myself clear. It plays (played) just fine on mine right out of the box (GoTY version), too. I am Modding it to take advantage of today's better graphics and a couple of nice mods that have been made, since it was first released, that make it even more fun to play than it was when I first played it when it came out back in 2003 on my older XP Pro machine.
As a matter of fact, the first time I ran it on my Win 7 64-bit machine; all I did was take the hard drive with it on it from the XP machine and install it as my second (E:) drive.
IMHO it is one (if not 'The') Best games of its kind. It justly deserves its "Game of the Year" title and has held up extremely well over time. Spent many happy hours playing back then and fully intend to spend many more playing around with the 'Modded' versions of both Morrowind & Oblivion while I await for Skyrim to arrive (11/11/11). Now that I am retired I finally have the luxury of time to really enjoy my games.

That's good to know, Oldman44. We have a Windows 7 and Games thread stickied at the top of this forum and Morrowind is listed as one that plays with no problems on Windows 7. I, too, am looking forward to Skyrim.

Draclvr,
Right, and thanks for posting it. I have been monitoring it since you first posted it. You might want to note that if you want to do any Modding on either game; that they should be installed (especially Oblivion) in a folder other than C:\ Program Files or C:\Program Files (x86).
Something like C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind and
C:\Games\Bethesda Softworks\Oblivion seems to work fine to avoid the admin problems that Win 7 causes with some games. Heck, the console is not even available in Oblivion if you run it under any folder with Program Files in the name.
Yes, I was reading some of the latest stuff about Skyrim last night and by all accounts so far it is going to be awesome. Just hope that the Good Lord lets me hang around long enough to get a chance to experience it.
