Does anyone know a good scarey zombie shooter game for PS3? The scarier the better-er. How I love playing scarey at 2-3 AM and screeming and laughing while kitty trying to sleep on my lap. When one lives alone she can do things like this.

BTW Crysis2 is out - any comments - it looks good and it's 10% off at Amazon - might wait awhile.

Yankee, I don't like scary games but will query son.

Is there a demo for Crysis you can play?

It doesn't get any better than Left 4 Dead for a good scary zombie shooter!! It's scared the pants off me many times...

<de-lurk> Did someone say 'zombies?' grin

We Sony fans must miss out on L4D, sadly, but there're enough alternatives on the way! Keep an eye out - dangling or otherwise - for Dead Island and RE: Operation Raccoon City late this year; also, there's a Walking Dead game in the works (though this is from Telltale, if you can believe it, so I dunno how much of a shooter it'll be); and finally, there are HD reissues of RE4 and RE - Code: Veronica coming. There, enough zombies to shake a severed arm at! (Though you might have better luck with this.)

Oh, and in general horror, F.E.A.R. 3 is nearly here (May 24th); Dexter: The Game (iPhone-to-PC port) hit Direct2Drive not long ago; and the PSN exclusive Amy looks mighty interesting. BloodRayne is returning for an all-new, downloadable title, too. But I personally can't wait for The Cat Lady (a PC adventure game), and - what else? - Silent Hill: Downpour.

I am playing Crysis II and glad I chose to play on the easiest - A Walk in the Park, they say, because early in the game and for sometime I was lost. I played Crysis I, but do not remember much of the details about customizing suit and weapons. The only WT I found is video, and I had to use it more than once since I was getting actually lost despite having a compass and a destination marked duh.

One needs to use all the attributes of the suit and sometimes it is not easy for me to see what it is needed.

I don't find it scary but it takes a lot for a game to scare me. The shooting is good and enjoyable after the learning part but at the beginning I was killed many times.

Oh wow - that's alot of suggestions -will research them in the morning. Played RE5, it wasn't that scarey but Wesker is kinda nice. RE4 is for mPS2 and started it but it's clunky so never finished it. My problem is I don't scare easy and so I get gyped but will get some of these when they are out.
Feeb - what does <de-lurk> mean?
I could get L4D for the PC
I will get Crysis2 when it's cheaper
Playing Vanquish for the 4th time and Borderlands(1st time)
Thanks everyone and happy Friday

Ah, sorry, "de-lurk" as in I'm coming out of hiding (i.e., lurking), to post again. 'Net nerd "humor", easily ignored. wink

Yeah, I'll probably skip those two REmakes, myself; they might tighten up the controls some for the PS3, but unless they add some actual new content, a crisper, prettier picture would be all you're getting...

L4D PC is totally an option - unless your PC is anything like mine and liable to burst into flames upon inserting the disc. grin

A quick browse around on PSN found you two more titles that I'd forgotten (and, unlike the majority of that second paragraph up in my previous post, these are actually pure shooters...with zombies, no less!): Zombie Apocalypse, and Dead Nation. They're top-down, twin-stick deals, though, and seemed to have a casual, not-so-scary feel that's caused me to pass on them for now.

Feeb, I like your sence of humor and how did you find that fantastic zombie site? I want the zombie heels and zombie lingerie - I can walk around the house like that. Also I want the zombie shooting galery. I should email that site to 2 of my children. Remember when Hannible Lecter sawed off that guy's skull in the movie - I laughed/screemed so loud - It's the startle effect - scared kitty too.
Anyway made my list and will hit Amazon shortly. Wish me luck. Thanks all and happy weekend.

Did you see that lingerie? Oh to be young again - with my new tooth implant and this little Texas town........... Front page here we come.
L4D - my son has that game and I'll borrow it to see if it plays on Win7 - if it does I'll buy my own along with new lingerie. And shoes.

Now you just have to find the perfect song to parade around to in your new outfit! Too much? (First thought. Sorry. lol And "Thriller" is just too obvious. :P)

Honestly, no finding required, I check the headlines on FEARnet and Dread Central regularly. evil (They're both in April Fools mode at the moment, so today's perhaps not the best day to get acquainted with 'em, haha.) They pretty much cover all things horror, and the former even has free, streaming movies and shows, to boot.

Oh, quick note since you mentioned Amazon: the games I've listed above as "PSN" are download-only on the PlayStation Network's store, so you won't find them anywhere else. Enjoy L4D, in other words. grin

Speaking of, do you play it online, Draclvr? It being really intended as an online multiplayer game is another thing that gave me pause (even if my rig could run it, I'm not sure my connection is up to snuff; it works well enough for videos, though, so maybe!).

It does (L4D) - I played it for a couple of hours last night.

No, I don't Feeb. I tried it a couple of times, but I happened to run into a couple of real jerks both times and never tried it again. I just play the campaigns all by my little lonesome and absolutely love it! When I get scared and shoot one of my teammates, I don't get scolded by some little teenager! Someone here suggested we have our own group to play with - I just never had the time. Last night was a rarity for me.

And my riding crop heheheee. I want to be like that bad lady in Jericho(Clive Barker) - there's a pretty good game. And I need strong marching music like WW2 stuff.
That site - transcendancy - zombies are resserichted(spelling?) is that what the 1st sentence means.

Oh, yes, shoes! Actually any of the numbers on this page would be awesome - I particularly like the ones that buckle all the way up the back.

Zombie Boots

I couldn't find the Trancendency site?

Um, actually, it was more to do with Buffalo Bill's, er, "sexy dance" scene, in Silence of the Lambs. And zombie lingerie. And the resulting visual.

That's all I'm sayin'. Don't over-think it. grin
(Just for that, you're getting a YouTube video next time. :P)

Drac, your experience is exactly why I've avoided all online gaming to this day, even (especially?) on the PS3. Which makes RE5 grueling at times. How's the AI in L4D? Are your teammates remotely helpful, or just (ahem) brainless zombie fodder?

Hmmmm. Forgotten that dance scene - you have a good memory - I remember the kitty in the window.
Bring on the U-Tube.
I didn't play the music from the post. Must do that.
Looking at my riding crop right now.

(*waiting patiently for PS3 controller to charge, having drained it dry with Dead Space 2* Grr.)

Well, you can't mention Hannibal the Cannibal sawing skulls, and skulking about the house in zombie sleepwear, in the same post and not expect my morbid mind to mash 'em together somehow. And nah, no clips; you're obviously due for a full re-watch. wink

Ooo... I have a nice long whip out in my barn from my old horse training days. Perhaps I shall have to resurrect it for other uses!

Feeb, I'd have to say my "crew" in L4D is mediocre, but not useless. I don't have a lot to compare it to, but I've gotten everyone through some pretty tight spots. Now and then one will get down pretty low on health and I've had to heal them, but they are fairly useful. I love this game and often simply need to spend an hour or so blistering some Zombies for a while!

OK, you guys convinced me - time to get some new games. Amazon, Prepare thyself! Here comes the battered ccard.
Currently playing borderlands, killzone 2 and 3.
Borderlands can get annoying at times - it's a RPG shooter - there's alot of game though.
Crysis2 is a must - mcc is playing that and liking it.

Now - suddenly I remember that scene, feeb - how 'bout that one in Clockwork Orange? How's your memory?

The look of Borderlands caught my eye (shock), and not much else, to be honest. Brought to mind this other cell-shaded shooter, which just popped up on GOG; I vaguely remember playing the demo for it on PS2.

Yankee, see your PM. grin

Oh! Right. Zombies. You two might find this funny (in a nerdy kind of way): a Resident Evil-esque survival horror game, complete with combat - but in the form of an Apple II text adventure. Unsure whether to be proud or ashamed to admit that I played - and finished - it a few weeks back.

That they are! Though this one wasn't too bad, the difficulty was less "devious puzzles" and more "insta-kill deathtraps". (Albeit entertaining ones.)

And zombies. Can't forget the zombies.
