Awww Jim, how disappointing!
Did you try the fix posted in answer to your question on the Playstation Community website?

I don't think it's really possible to browse individual files like that (other than savegames) on the PS3. Game data appears grouped by title, as one large "file" or package each. They're recommending deleting all the installed data, like so: Under the Game tab of the XMB (main PS3 interface), scroll up/down to Game Data Utility, select it, find Killzone 2, hit Triangle, select Delete, and confirm. (That's from memory, so I hope that's right. Fingers crossed!*) As Yankee points out, be absolutely sure you're in the Game Data folder, not your saves, before you trash anything. Anywhoo, this'll delete your KZ2 game data, prompting the game to re-install it the next time you pop the disc in. So if anything's corrupted there, that'll solve that. *EDIT: Yep. Booted up and double-checked. Obsessively managing my console hard-drive paid off.

All I've done is clarify what they suggested over on the Sony board, Yankee. Re: the patch, I've opted out of the Heavy Rain update for ages, simply by using the Circle button to cancel it and starting the game up normally (and, yes, you'd have to do that each and every time). If that fails, I suppose you could always disconnect your PS3 from the 'net before inserting the disc; that way, it wouldn't perform the check for updates and you'd be left with the original game data. It'd allow you to test it out, at least. I haven't actually played KZ2 so I'm not really familiar with it. I'd give that PM a shot, if you haven't already!

Jim, I'm sorry it is still not working for you. I know how frustrating that can be. Continuing thanks to Fee and Yankee. What would we do over here without our caring and helpful members.

jim, I just see your post since I was out of town and internet.
Before Garza calls "Sev over here" he says something like "it seems this is the last of them", "something something two in the Academy", at that moment the game acknowledges all enemies are dead, does Garza say that in your game?
