I'm looking for something to play & wondered if this was worth buying. How many games are in the series? What is the first one? Should I start with that one?

Barb, the first two games were released in the early 90s, so you may not want to start with those. I did play of bit of the first. It is a simple 2D platformer. The Sands of Time (2003) is regarded as the best in the series. It is a bit harder than POP 2008 that I am playing now. I got 80% through it before I hit a spot I couldn't get by. It has some fancy athletics to learn and you often battle groups of enemies. POP 2008 is an easier game, looks beautiful, and has simpler jumps. There are fewer battles and only against one opponent. Also, you cannot die. Your companion will always save you. Besides the two early games, there are five more modern ones. I have all but the latest. Read some reviews and see which appeals to you. Also, check some gameplay on YouTube to get a feel of the game.

Thanks Barb...I gotta say the "you cannot die" part tempts me.

Barb, let us know what you go with?
