Hi everyone, we (Adventure-Treff) have just published my newest interview and I'd like to tell you about it right now. smile

This time I asked the project leader of The Silver Lining (and former Assistant Producer of Telltale Games) Cesar Bittar lots of questions about The Silver Lining, Telltale Games, his own background, his special relation to the Gabriel Knigt series and much, much more.

I really hope you like the final result! smile

I was interested in Cesar Bittar's comment on Lost Horizon, that having to be MacGyver and rummage through your inventory to find things to combine to get results 'put him off'. Funny how different AG players can be, isn't it? I love inventory puzzles!

The occasional very well integrated stand-alone puzzle is spice for the game; I enjoy them when they fit the sense of the game and advance it (and since he's fresh in my mind after Serpent Moon, billy, aka William R. Fisher, is very good at creating puzzles like that). But inventory puzzles are the meat and potatoes and there is almost always a grin on my face when whattaya know, I figured it out!.

I can see the rationale on episodic games; I hope, though, that TellTale (and possibly Phoenix, depending on what they come up with) eventually issue disk versions of the combined episodes for us dinosaurs who like our games in boxes on the shelf to gloat over.

Gil.

Thanks for the link, Jack! Very good interview! Definitely agree with him about Gabriel Knight, the series really does spoil you. lol That's so cool that he got to spend a weekend at Jane Jensen's house! thumbsup

And of course, I'm really looking forward to episode 4. rah

Traveler, I agree with you regarding Lost Horizon. One of the better games I've played and the best complete game I played in 2010. (I do like TSL even more, but it's not finished yet. wink ) I'm sort of surprised Cesar had that opinion, as I didn't find Lost Horizon nearly as difficult as the Gabriel Knight games, for example. Or the KQ games for that matter, and they were loaded with inventory puzzles. Oh, well, can't please everyone. smile

In any case, really interested in what Phoenix Online's future project(s) might be. thumbsup

Thanks for this link Jack!

I love the Silver Lining and I check the website often for news on Episode 4. I hope it's not too long in the making. Long time between can dampen some peoples interest. Classic adventure of the old type that we romantics miss!

He mentioned Gabriel Knight series, which were my favorite Adventure games. I was so taken with GK3, that I delved into the mysteries of Rennes Le Chateau in great depth. When The DaVinci Code book came out I immediately snarfed that up too. The movie was also quite good. A fascinating legend indeed!

He hit on all my favorites...Lost Horizon is a very good adventure game and I didnt mind the "let's put this with this and get that" feature.
The character development in it was spot on.

I just finished the latest Nancy Drew game and my review can be found on that thread. I was NOT overly impressed with it.
