I finally figured it out. lol
Now I am in surgery and the doctor that is hacking his patient to death will not go down. I have used guns, fire plasmid, beat him with the wrench, threw stuff at him using the telekinesis plasmid. Nothing brings him down. He gets me every time. Wish I could change the difficult level to easy. I find medium very hard. eek
Anyway can this dude be killed? And with what? smirk

Woo Hoo JB, I'm glad you got it. I must admit I'd have never thought to do that.

Is there a way you can keep him from healing?

I can't figure out how. I may have to quit and start over on easy. I am on my second day trying to put him down.

Update: I went against my will to not look at the WT. I looked at the WT.lol
I used the incinerate plasmid on the oil slick on the floor and that finally brought him down. I just don't know why aiming the plasmid at him direcrly did nothing. duh

JohnBoy,

You should be able to change the difficulty level any time you want to. I started the game on Medium, found that first Big Daddy too hard, changed to Easy and then switched back to Medium a while later in the game.

Best,
Leigh-Anne

The WT did not mention that one. But I do remember now that the machines can be hacked to your advantage. It's awful having ADD. woozy

JohnBoy,

Remember that you don't need to take on a Big Daddy until you're ready to. You're perfectly free to do some other things first, gather some more proximity mines or ammo and find other tonics/plasmids, and then when you're good and armed, come back to the Big Daddy and knock him down.

Just because he's there doesn't mean you can't ignore him for the time being. I think the only Big Daddy that you really need to kill when you first see him is the one in the first level.

Good luck! Take your time and loot/search everywhere.

Best,
Leigh-Anne

It seems that Big Daddy's charge at me forcing me to go into combat with them. Maybe I am approaching them to closely. Anyway I am getting a better understanding of everything as I go along. This game is totally awesome. It's definitely one that I'd keep to play again in a year or so, maybe sooner. I also have Bioshock 2 to play when I finish this one.
I tell you though, when I am finished playing a session I am left breathless. lol

I am suppose to go to Fleet Hall to be entertained. It appears that I need to take an elevator up to the upper floor. Could I get a hint as to how I get the elevator door opened?

Nevermind. There are 2 large buttons on the left side wall of the elevator. If it were a snake it would have bit me. lol
