The mod file "fairyfix.dsres" of "IRyan's Fairy Fix" for the original Dungeon Siege? This is the fix that keeps the "gifts of health and mana from fairies and pixies when you don't need it" glitch from happening, which can be a game-ender if it does. The file is no longer available for download on Siege Network, and my email to its author was returned undelivered.

Got it. Thanks a bunch, Misslilo. I'd forgotten that it's only 9 KB---it's amazing that such a small mod file can prevent such a terrible, bizarre, game-ending glitch.

You wouldn't happen to know of a working download link for the good Myros mod, would you? It's the one that changes the multiplayer game into singleplayer. And not the small, earlier version of this mod, but the better one that's about 60 MB. I actually wanted to replay that first, before DS and DS:LoA. I've gotten it from GameSpot before, but that link just brings up a "404 - Not found" page now. Drats!

I'm so sorry, I wasn't able to find it, although CNet is supposed to have it, but file is not there smile

Sorry Jenny - I already tried it out, but this file is the small version. smile

He asked for the big 60MB file - which I found on both CNet Download.com and Gamespot, but file is not found, when trying to download.

No need to apologize, Misslilo--thanks anyway for checking. I couldn't find it anywhere, either. And thanks to you, too, Jenny, but that's not the mod I'm trying to reacquire, which is about 60MB in size. That one, by the same modder, was, as it says in its Readme, "just a beta project until we can get our hands on the real Siege Editor," is only 184KB, and its installation involves things like recompiling tank files, whatever those are. I think my only hope is to register on a site like Siege Network, so I can post in a forum there, asking if anyone has that mod or knows where it can still be downloaded from. The full-fledged Myros mod is really great. I would recommend it to anyone who likes replaying DS and DS:LoA singleplayer, cuz it gives you a 3rd game like those to play--and the cheat codes work in it, too. Anyway, thanks again, you two. wave

I checked the Siege netvork forum, and it was mentioned somewhere, but not a place to download smile

Oh, double-drats! And I can add that I emailed Myros and, so far, it's undeliverable. This isn't right, cuz that's a mod that players would want for years to come. Playing the DS multiplayer game singleplayer is just as good as the other two. Plus, the map is much more expansive, there are displacers in it, which are fun to ride, and there are good, different, optional structures to discover, explore, and...uh, neutralize, like this neat "connected twin towers" thing off the beaten path somewhere...I forget where exactly. Maybe Myros will get wind of this topic and post a download link here? Is that possible?

It looks like Gamespot has it ***here***, but you have to be a Gamespot member to download it. That one is 60.7 MB

I also found a 59.3 MB version at ***Fileplanet*** and managed to download it. So check that one.

Downloading as we speak from Fileplanet.

The Gamespot one, I tried - I'm a member - but file is not there.
I keep getting moved back to front page, when clicking the download button smile

Edit:
Looks like the right file and it's clean! laugh
I now have it saved in case anyone else wants it and the link doesn't work anymore.

I'm glad to know the Fileplanet download is the correct file.

That stinks of Gamespot not having it. It sounds like they may have been using some other site's download and when the site that was actually hosting the file went down, so did Gamespot's access -- same problem as with CNet.

Yay, that's it! Thanks a lot, you two. Did you notice that the download pop-up said it was getting it from Direct2Drive? Does that mean they are currently hosting the file? If so, kudos to them. As I've alluded to, IMO this and the "fairy fix" are the 2 most important Dungeon Siege mods out there, and they're the only 2 I've ever used. Gonna keep everything installed this time. My re-purchase of DS/DS:LoA is on its way. That's a good idea to keep the file in case someone else wants it and can't find a download again, Misslilo. I bet there's some fans of the first 2 singleplayer games out there who would like this, but don't know about it yet. Thanks again. I'll slay a few hundred monsters for you.
