Hi, I got this game today at walmart because it was cheap but never played the first one. Is it mandatory to play these in order?
Also I am noticing that on the cover it says Games for Windows LIVE. Is this for on-line multiplay only. Or can it be played solo? Thanks, JohnBoy

It's a fantastic game and you do not need to play the first one but I highly recommend giving it a go. If you plan on it, I'd get it and play it first but it is not necessary. You play solo, but need to log into windows live. Ana

Oh, I agree with Ana. Play the first one and you will see why she says you are in for a treat! Then play the second one for even more treats.

It's good to know that I don't have to log in to windows live. I hate having to go through all that. It's so annoying. And thanks for the info about the patch. Moving right along with Bioshock. I am on level five and just loving the game. Is the second game more of the same or is there lots of differences?

One of the things I loved about Bioshock2 is that - up to a point - it was more of the same. I think Ana commented once that they only fixed what needed to be in a new game and left the rest alone.

Kjos, did you read the Patch notes on that link? It sounds like the patch solves a whole host of issues. You could always try playing without it though and see what happens.
