Hi Gilligan,

If you check the Windows 7 game thread stickied at the top of the Glitches forum, one of the tips is to try playing the game with XP Service Pack 3 compatibility. Did you try that? smile

Hey, Gilligan,

Did you use the installer you can find *HERE* ?

This installer made all the difference for me.

Edit: Trying a different compatibility might help, as Rushes says. I've got mine set to Win 98.

Gil.

Gilligan, definitely check out the Windows 7 and Games thread at the top of the Glitches forum. Several of us tried different things and it was a combination of the installer traveler mentions and playing in compatibility mode.

Gilligan, you may have TOO MUCH computer for the game!! Let's let Jenny or Inland take a look and maybe you will need to make some changes that are more to do with you system.

No, no, you have a WONDERFUL computer! It's just that Grim Fandango is a very old game and might not work the best on this wonderful computer.

If this is the only spot where there's a problem, it may be easiest to exchange saves with someone who can play past the trouble spot on their computer. You send them your save after from before the crash, they load the save, play past the trouble spot and save, then send you the save they just made.

Also, if you're not using Grim Fandango's software mode, be sure to try that. The game won't look as nice but it should be more stable.

Hi Jenny smile

so I better use hardware acceleration than software acceleration?..well I better Try that..
and good idea to find some saves from the others

the freeze always happens to Manny,he freeze while surround him keep moving normally ~sigh~..
but Thanks for the input I better try it smile

Draclvr*..I tried running Atlantis series again and run smoothly (with Inferno installation guide)..smile..
but funny things with atlantis 1.the game running smooth but the character moves so fast like "Charlie Chaplin' movies lol..
I set the compability,and works well..grin
so I guess will be OK with Grim Fandango,
~sigh..Thanks for the compliment *hugs*

Thank You,gotta go..break fasting is start here, and am getting hungry grin

No. The other way around. Try software acceleration instead of hardware acceleration. The controls are in the game's settings/options somewhere.

That's normal when you run it on a computer that's many times faster than what it was designed for. At least it's normal for this particular game.
