Jacline OP Settled Boomer J Joined: Mar 2006 Posts: 102 Longueuil Qc	Two worlds is restarting my new computer, after playing for a few minutes.Win 7 does not like this game, evidently. I found solutions to this problem on GOG.com (It worked perfectly on my old XP computer.) Changing compatibility to XP service Pack 3,or Starting as administrator did not change anything. One thing I have not tried is using DirectX 9 for the game. How do I do that? Thank you

InlandAZ BAAG Specialist Joined: Aug 2002 Posts: 7,263 Arizona	If it requires DirectX 9 and you don't have it installed the game probably won't start (so I assume you have it installed). If the PC is rebooting maybe you have a heat issue. Does your PC meet the minimum system requirements?

Intel(R)Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU@3.40GHz RAM 8.Go Win7 64 bits NVidia 590GTX. As you see, it is more than adequate for this game. I know I have directX9 installed from a previous installation of another game, but I can't remember how to reach it. And according to the info I found, I am not even sure if it is going to work. I reinstalled a few times but same problem each time. It's a last effort before I scrap the game.

In Windows 7, you click the Start button in the lower left of your screen and type dxdiag in the Start Search box. You should see it listed. On this page http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/914403-two-worlds/49461256 someone said they had the same problem until they installed PhysX.

Kaki's Sister Sonic Boomer Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 25,610 Marlborough USA	This is going to sound strange but a while back I had a problem where I played an old casual game on my computer, went to close the game and found to my surprise my DX9 had changed to DX7. This prevented me from playing any adventure games. Do check as Jenny says to see what dx your computer is running. Good Luck! Gerry

Give Jenny's suggestion a shot and install the PhysX drivers.

I looked, as Jenny said, for directX9, but I did not find it on my PC. (Thought I had seen it and forgotten where I saw it)Obviously my other games use DirectX 11. I don't understand why I can play 20 to 40 min without problems... Do I download it (DirectX9) and the game will use it automatically? Do games choose the version of DirectX they need automatically? As you see, I am not used to games needing "tweaks" .

You can only see them under Windows Explorer in the SYSTEM32 folder (assuming you have Hide Protected OS files unchecked in your Folder Options). They’ll be prefixed with: D3DX9. Thank you Jenny100 for the info on DirectX Inland AZ, I found a lot of folders named D3DX9. So my problem is probably not due to DirectX9 not being installed, I guess. I play games for hours at a time. Witcher 2 works like charm. Never any unwanted reboot! Why would I have heat problems only for an old game like Two worlds? I think I give up. Thank you everybody.
