After several emails with BFG about not being able to watch their game preview videos, BFG had me update my drivers and they did a diagnostic test on my PC. They told me that the problem was on their end and they would look into it.

Since it has been quite awhile since I reported it to them, and nothing has changed, I was resigned to the fact that I won't be able to watch preview videos of their games. I haven't had the problem with the Game Manager that others have had but hated not being able to preview the games.

BFG customer service was great and they even gave me a free game. Today, I decided to once again try to watch a preview and it worked! Looks like BFG has fixed the problem. Since BFG has been getting some negative comments lately, I wanted to pass on some positive news about them.

Thanks so much for letting us know. A lot of people who were having problems with the videos will be pleased with this. Nice to get a game credit, too. thumbsup wave

I've tried just about everything and nothing helped. It just happens when I go to BF,my account, purches history, ie has encountered a problem and needs to close. A few seconds the page comes up. I guess I can live with that.

Here are Flo's instructions, Richard:

Quote:
First, let's make sure that your internet security settings are set to Medium:

1. Open the Control Panel located on your start menu
2. Select "Internet Options" then the "Security" tab
3. Make sure the "Internet" zone is selected
4. If "Security level" shows "Custom" click the "Default Level" button
5. Slide the slider to "Medium" or "Medium-High"

Alternatively, you can select the "Trusted Sites" zone and add http://*.bigfishgames.com. Make sure that the slider is at "Medium-high" or less.

Next, let's reset your internet settings to their default settings -- these affect how different processes and protocols are handled by the browser:

1. Open the Control Panel located on your start menu
2. Click "Internet Options," then the "Advanced" tab
3. Under "Reset Internet Explorer settings," click "Restore Advanced Settings"
4. Click "OK," then restart your Internet Explorer

One thing that happened when I finished restoring Advanced Settings is the security level went to High so I had to put it back to med high then all was well.

Marian,I just received this note from BF.
Looking in our system, it seems that this is a known issue that we are currently working hard to get corrected. My first suggestion here would be to temporarily use the internet browser called Mozilla Firefox which our customers have the most success with when purchasing games and accessing their account on our site. Just click on the below link to download the internet browser Mozilla Firefox. Sounds like the trouble is with BF. i have tried everything you have suggested none of it worked. thanks Flo and Marian.

Must tell you my story, I was having horrible time with BF Game Manager, got so mad I cancelled my subscription, had loads of e-mails from there support, one said he would try to solve my problem by 'taking over my PC', at the time I said yes and a date was made for this to happen, but in the meantime I decided to have my computer reformatted, told BF support what I was doing and said I would let them know, after a reformat I downloaded the new Game Manager and it worked,

I know this is not the answer to everyone's problems, but what I will say is I was very pleased and surprised that BF wanted to do the 'remote takeover' of my PC to help me,
so I am now back to gaming, but still have a lot to put back on my computer after the reformat,
so I shall soon be back for help.

Keep going, the feeling great at the end.

I have to add that I have already "made up for lost time" of being without the game manager in that I have filled two cards!(in 3 days no less). snicker

The really good news is that only one game that I tried to download had a problem (took over 20 minutes and then didn't work).

Glad to hear so many success stories with BF. Not so for me. I just spent days and days and several emails, upgrades of video cards, Dr Felix, jumped through a few hoops just for kicks and my tech guy said he needed to take it to his level 2 people..... well, level 2 said it was still not them. oh, my problem? every other game I install won't open, just goes to the window "Thanks for playing you have 60 min left".
BTW, I did a search here on boomers, so if I'm posting in the wrong place, please feel free to move it. thanks for listening/reading.

A non answer is ALWAYS an answer it's just that it's never good.

Marcie, have you tried rolling back to the old version of the Big Fish Game Manager?

You can read about doing so, here. This is, of course, assuming that your problems began with the new Game Manager.

I hope your problems will be resolved. Let us know. flowers

Is anybody experiencing their BF games crashing back to desktop? My games played fine yesterday. Today only my BF installed games play for 30 seconds then close out. Notified BF about this problem. I have an adventure game running good so It's just BF.
