I loved playing Bookworm Adventures and now I see on SpinTop they have Bookworm Adventures 2.
I have had trouble downloading from them in the past, and would love to get this game on BF. How do you go about suggesting a game to them? I did'nt see any place to do that on the website. Thanks.

I too would love to see this game on Big Fish. I remember asking Paul Thelen (BFG-Guy) a couple years ago if Big Fish was ever going to get this one, and he wasn't sure. When the game was first released, some websites were distributing the game in sections rather than the entire game at once; I'd definitely want the entire game for download rather than piecemeal.

I imagine what you should do is write to Customer Support with your game suggestion; they can always forward your email to the appropriate department. I don't know of any more specific address for you to send the question. wave

Shockwave has Bookworm Adventures 2. I've never had any trouble downloading from them. Might be worth a look.

Shockwave tracks your web activity with web beacons. I would not recommend them.

I am well aware of web beacons and, for me, they do not constitute a reason not to do business with a site. And, it's a free country. Everyone is free to do what they want to do.

The members here appreciate the headsup MrLipid. You can see plenty of threads here on that and I get plenty of private mail asking me. Everyone is certainly free to do as they please but they can do so with an informed choice.

I don't like the idea of people I don't know tracking what I look at on the Internet for purposes of advertising. Their servers can be broken into and information from various sources that are claimed to be anonymous can be collated to set up a profile for users that is no longer anonymous. It's the first step to a more serious attack where your identity can be stolen.

And for what? To play a game from a website that doesn't respect your privacy? Is playing that game really worth the risk?

I for one don't think so Jenny100. I am pleased we receive the heads up so I CAN make an informed decision.

I completely agree. I am grateful for the "heads up" info about other sites on the web. That is but only one reason I continue to appreciate GameBoomers.

I also completely agree and thank you GB for the heads up...besides, who knows what other information they collect or how they use it.

If I needed to play a game that bad, I would buy one at the store instead of downloading it. Thank GB for all you do kissy kissy wave

Big Fish certainly follows you around. If I'm signed in at Big Fish, and only if I'm signed in, the minute I go to my Wunderground weather website Big Fish's animated ads are there. When I clear my cookies, those ads disappear. I find it annoying and I do clear my cookies often.

Traveler,

Do you have the Big Fish Dashboard installed on your Browser?

No, OldMan44, I never install things like that.

Traveler,

The reason I asked is that is the only way that they should be tracking/following you around. In fact, if you read the agreement you accept when using it says they will do so; which is the reason that I don't use their dashboard (beside the fact that I don't like the additional clutter).

I often have multiple browsers open during the day (with one of them signed into BF) and have never noticed any ads from BF on other sites; and I almost never remove any of my cookies.

Traveler is not alone. I've been followed frequently by ads from BFG. (Even commented on it here.) And I have never installed the Big Fish Dashboard.

I do remember your having mentioned that before, MrLipid.

I'm not being followed by Big Fish ads either and I don't have any tool bars/dashboards installed.

Well, however they're doing it, they're doing it. I dislike multiple toolbars and have the skinniest browser in existence, I think. I use only the one browser (unless I'm forced by a site like Google to use one of their preferred browsers to edit my website) and either Opera or CCleaner effectively removes all cookies that I don't allow...and that's not many and doesn't include Big Fish. I sign in there every time I access it so I know you don't need the dashboard installed to be followed around.

Gil.

BigFish does indeed add a cookie to your computer that will put BF ads on certain websites if you access those websites. It is not a web beacon or clear gif that tracks your movement or monitors your actovity or lets all the ad companies spam your computer. The ads you get are only BF. You can opt out of these if you choose to by using this program.

If you use their social gaming that is a different set of rules, but downloading their games only will give you a BF ad cookie. I do not get the ads but I use the Opt-out program.

Everyone that is a regular here knows that we try to provide safe gaming for all. ASk those in glitches forum how many times they help someone clean up their computers because they downloaded from a site that put more on their computer than games. It is your decision to choose where you download from.

Ana
