If for some reason anticipated October releases don't get released What will you play ?? I'm leaning towards Blackstone Chronicles or Sanitarium myself

Guild Wars. Halloween one of the biggest holidays in this Dark Side game. And there may be new quests this year to make it even bigger.
Currently Playing: Adventure Game: Broken Age Darkside: Star Wars: The Old Republic

I replay Dracula: Resurrection each and every Halloween. I always look forward to meeting Dorko. And getting lost in the snow. That's good, too.

Sanitarium is an oldie but goodie. Maybe I'll break out Phantasmagoria.
It's nice to be important but it is much more important to be nice.

Might play either Alpha Polaris or Penumbra that free game (to start the Penumbra series off) but, my question is, Halloween lasts for only 1 night/evening out of a whole year, and I've found that regardless of what spooky, scary game I happened to be playing in the past, that even playing old DOS games such as Harvester or Stonekeep will take me longer to play than 1 single evening/night or even a whole day to play, from the start of the intro until the end credits - so how can you say "well, I'm going to play such-and-such game for Halloween?" How do you do it? How is it done? What is the "proper" way to play a game for Halloween, may I ask (quite curious)?

For a longer game, if you start playing a day or two before Halloween, then you'll still be playing it on the day itself, and perhaps a few days beyond that, which counts. Hmm, this reminds me of when I was 9 or 10 years old, and I had that Leopard costume that Mom made for me for Halloween the year before (when I was 8), so (IIRC) I'd start playing "African Leopard Safari" with my sister (as the hunter/safari person), Dad (as the Wild Kingdom commentator person - I used to watch Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom on TV back then, they showed/demo'ed/talked about wild animals and what kinds of "animal super-powers" these animals possessed), and I (dressed in the leopard costume as the Leopard) umm, about say, around the middle/beginning of Oct, or when the days started getting colder/darker earlier/grayer (cloudy)/rainier - so I guess that this kind of thing can be applied to playing spooky games "for Halloween"? As for playing said spooky games a few days/weeks after Halloween, my elders (Maternal Grandma/my parents) had a rule in their heads that as soon as the whistle blew after TOT on Halloween night and the day afterwards (Nov. 1) for them, Halloween was over. But, as a child, I wanted to keep playing this Leopard game (dressed in costume) for days afterwards until Thanksgiving/Christmas. Btw, I do recall back in fall of '03 playing Harvester (was near the end of the last level) on Thanksgiving night after that big turkey dinner with the help of cheat codes, so yes, now I think I'm getting the picture - spooky Halloween gaming can last beyond Oct. 31. I've played Dracula: Resurrection so often that it only takes me two hours to complete. Wow, Rushes, how did you possibly complete this game (from Intro to credits) in 2 hrs (now even more curious)? Even with w/t's it takes me many days/weeks to finish even old DOS games. How old is Dracula Resurrection - I mean is it a DOS/Windows 3.xx, Win 95/98, or Win XP game, b/c I know that generally, "paid for" games get progressively longer with each OS advancement?

It was released in 1999, I think. It would be a fairly short game even for someone playing it for the first time. But once you know exactly what to do and how to do it, it's possible to zip through it. There's not a lot of dialogue.

I don't play a special game for Hallowe'en, I just curl up in bed with a spooky DVD. Maybe "The Messengers" which is about a haunted farm house or "Rose Red" or maybe "Poltergeist". Oh, & a bag of jelly beans.

Me, I believe I'm going to start playing "special" games for Halloween (after I get caught up with studying, etc), have just finished transcribing a podcast on my ipad into text in one of my notebooks (paper notebook, not a laptop) at least, the first 10 minutes of this hour-long podcast, next I have to finish up studying the final chapter for this week for school in one of my school books (which I was studying all this week so far).

Since I started Harvester a year ago, I resumed it, finishing Day/Night 5 and played up to the part that's when (according to Crash's w/t) where Steve's mom urges Steve to go see what's happening to Stephanie at my friend's house today.

Played past the part in Harvester where Steve's mom urges Steve to find out what's happening to Stephanie. Man, I really feel for Steve, it looks like he's in a fix. After that I played the free Penumbra past that room where the lockers are and got thru that locked door that's beyond the lockers, getting into the start of the darkened corridor. There's "spoaches" (gray/black/white cone/bell-shaped objects about the size of a Fairfax vacuum cleaner of the 1950's/R2D2 in Star Wars that used to scare me at night when I was a little child) in this game (not actual objects in the game maybe, but I imagine they're in the gameplay environment as I play) and that's why I think that game is called "Penumbra"

Played more of Penumbra this afternoon - from the start of the corridor to the generator room bottom of the stairs.

Played thru the second level in the free Penumbra game this evening, the part with the generator. Got to the next level (level 3).

We always had parties on Halloween, as it was my husband's birthday. We had more birthday parties for him than we did for all 7 of the children. As he is gone, and this would be his 100th, we are all including the grands and greats, no matter where we are or live, having a great big birthday party, for him. So if you live around any of us, we may answer the trick or treaters with Happy Birthday!!

I played more of the free Penumbra today - got past the level that has the rooms with bricks where the monster attacks. Electrocuted him and got to the start of the next level - corridor 2 with the hot steam coming out of the pipes.
