Are Penumbra Overture and Penumbra Epsoide 1 the same game?

Kazz, the series order is Overture, Black Plague, Requiem. I noticed at the game site that you can get all 3 games for $5.00 Here is a link to that.

I read on Moby Games about a Penumbra Episode 1 that was originally made as a demo to promote a new game engine and then made into a full size game. I was wondering if that game was ever published and if so, where could I purchase said game. I have The Penumbra Collection, but this appears to be a different game(Penumbra Overture) than the one we have all played. I would appreciate any information.

That tech demo is still worth checking out even if you've played the final games; the level's completely different from anything found in Overture, IIRC. Overture was the first commercial episode released (AKA Episode 1 AKA the first game in the Collection bundle), which, as you say, grew out of said tech demo's tech.
