I have just downloaded the above game to play but cannot get it to play as following message appears:
CPAL3D application has stopped working.
Create Sound buffer failed.
Gooka2.exe caused a Exception_Access_Violation in module gooka2.exe at 001B:004160E7

Not sure what all this means so would be grateful for some advice.

The CD version of the game used the old version of StarForce, which will not work on Vista or Windows 7 without a NoCD. If you installed the game from CD's, StarForce is probably what's causing your problem. But if you downloaded the game from the Internet, and installed the download version, the problem is something else.

I downloaded the game from internet and have a feeling its one of those games that just does not like Windows Vista, it did not cost a lot so not too worried.

What site did you download it from?
Do they have a forum where you can ask questions or people can give tips?
Most games that are sold by Internet download should be compatible with Vista.

If you have 64-bit Vista, there may be a problem with DEP. Check ***the How-To Geek site*** for how to turn off DEP for certain programs/games.

I downloaded from gamesplanet.com, have sent them a message a couple of days ago but they have never responded. I will try the 'how to geek site' to see if that will help, many thanks for your help
