We've reached 20 pages on the previous Name the Game thread, and so I'm starting another one. If anyone would like to view the previous Name the Game thread, you'll find Page 1 of the thread here.

For those who are joining us for the first time for Name the Game, this is the procedure:

One person (hereinafter known as "It") posts a clue to an adventure game. The clue can be simple or difficult or straightforward or creative. Clues can be information about characters or events or puzzles or more (though we do try to stay away from outright puzzle spoilers).

Everyone who wishes to participate can post the name of the game that best matches the clue. If no one has guessed after a few attempts, "It" gives another clue. The person who guesses correctly then becomes "It" and posts a clue for a different game, and so on. If you've posted a guess, or if you are "It," check back every day to see if you've guessed right or if you need to identify the correct guesser, so the game continues smoothly!

(When thinking up clues, a good place to look for possible ideas is the GameBoomers collection of adventure walkthroughs -- plenty of inspiration there.)

I am currently IT.

Clue #1: There never seems to be enough time to do the things you want to do, once you find them.

Outcry?

I child-proofed my home... but they're still getting in!

No, but that's a good guess, given the clues so far. The game I'm thinking of is a bit older than Outcry.

I've not been able to come up with a single coherent thought on this one yet, Becky !!

[ Then again, these days I don't have that many coherent thoughts about anything anyway snicker ]

Though I don't really think this is it, I'll guess The Longest Journey.

Clue #2: What should I do with this crystal shard? It's useless. Maybe I should give it to those people in San Francisco who seem to want it.

So that's where the Indie developers got their name, Crystal Shard. That's all I can think of whenever I look at that clue. Must be another one I haven't played. grin

Traveler, I got my copy in an old Lucas Arts collection that contained Maniac Mansion, Zak McKracken, Loom, that Indy game I mentioned and the first Monkey Island. thumbsup I still have this collection, as a matter of fact. It's what I used to install all of these games on ScummVM. grin

Correct Venus: Indy III.
Henry Jones jr's office contains several links to Zak McKraken, Maniac Mansion I and Sam & Max.
