I have a problem where I can't see any files in my H: partition. On a google search I found a solution that worked using the CMD.exe console. However how would I type game downloads in there? I tried game~1, game downloa~1 neither of which worked. Thanks in advance

Regards,

Barry

Nevermind all. I found a fantastic program called Unhide.exe which restores all files that are hidden on a drive by a virus. It worked completely and restored all my downloads. This program can be found here

Just in case you're wondering, it would be
"game downloads"

The quotes are important. The command line would recognize the words game and downloads as two separate things unless you put them in quotes.

game~1 might be correct for 16-bit DOS, but not for the command line in a command shell in 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.

Thanks for the info Jenny. Even though I found the above mentioned problem solve I was still wondering how that would be entered. You might want to save that Unhide.exe link in case anyone posts that all info was missing from one or more drives.

Regards,

Bill

Thanks for the link. The information about the rogue anti-spyware programs is interesting too. Also the part about not deleting the contents of Temp folders if you're infected. I know someone I want to send it to.
