Thanks Anne! This could be interesting..... EDIT: btw everyone, I have to say that I am in love with this game and it is THE most beautiful one I've ever played! I thought Oblivion was "it" for years but I think that Skrim's getting ready to replace it in my heart. Also, there's only one little fly in the ointment but I have to mention it because I wonder if I'm the only one who has this problem..... I am terrified of spiders, and having them pop up unexpectedly in the game is terrifying! I wish I could write to Bethesda and beg them not to put these nasty things in future games but I'm not sure if they'd listen to me or not. UGH!!! Tracy, who closes her eyes and slashes blindly whenever she encounters one of them!

Oh, Tracy, that's awful. There are so many, and they are so large. I'm that way about snakes. At least you get to kill them all.
I can't kill what bothers me, although so far there has been very little of it. What I'm phobic about are egregious lexical errors, such as: (found in a Skyrim book) "a millennia of suffrage" imposed on one of the minority peoples. The horrors of being forced to vote! (And that should be "a millennium"). Sorry to vent. I'll go lie (not lay) down until my palpitations cease and I'm fit to be around people.

I am taking a break...time to play. edit: If you are having a hard time getting on today, Right Click on the game, then Properties, then Local Files, and then verify Integrity. I'm not sure if that will work for everyone, but it did for me.

I now have this horse called Shdowmere. I believe he was available in Oblivion as well. Anyway I am enjoying riding around the country going from quest to quest and not even using fast travel just enjoying the scenery and only stopping to kill a monster or two.
yep this game has replaced Morrowind as my most favorite RPG. Sure has. It's nice when a sequel doesn't disappoint and even exceeds expectations.

Gosh, I like spicers - it hurts to kill them.
Tracy the were wolf thing is in the power menu. I'm playing on PS but go to the menu with the power up and map menu and the powers is with the magic part. To change back you must wait a bit. The change to werewolf takes a second or so.

I'm loving the animal allegiance dragon shout right now, looney. Now I can shout at the wolves or any another attacking animal and they immediately stop and just walk away. It's only drawback is that if there are any another attacking animals about, the ones you've shouted at will attack them in your defense.

Annie the game saves the screen shots in the Skyrim folder. I think they are all under steam with this game because I bought the disc and it is still under steam (which I don't really like).
Anyway if you have windows 7 it should be at:
C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\skyrim
If you look in the Skyrm folder you should see a file named "Screenshot2" or whatever number depending upon the number of screenshots you've taken.

Does anybody know how to re-enchant a weapon after the effect has gone. I tried enchanting but it didn't work. Maybe I did something wrong - also couldn't find that issue in the guide.
If I sell all my bling I could buy that house in Whiterun - I kinda like to hang on to those sparklies though

AnneG, where did you get the animal allegiance dragon shout? Annie, I have no idea where the screenshots are. Thanks Oldman, our members are the best. Yankee, I have an arrow in my neck. I wonder how long that is going to stay there? To re-enchant a weapon, you must have a filled soul gem. Son was going to show me the other day but I didn't have a filled gem. Let me load and check the in-game help. Edit: From the in-game help, "To recharge an enchanted weapon, select it in your inventory, and then press "T". Then select a filled soul gem from the list to recharge the weapon with it." I hope that helps.

There are three places you can get a word of power for that particular shout. The easiest one to get is probably in the nordic ruin west of Riften, Angarvunde. You have to complete a quest that will start when you go in.
One is in Ysgramor's Tomb, which is up around Winterhold. You won't get that one unless your doing the Companions' quests.
The last one you have to kill a dragon for at Ancient's Ascent, which is southwest of Helgen. On the shouts.... You don't have to have all three words to unlock one, do you? It's only more powerful the more words you have, right? I've never been quite clear on that.

Thanks AnneG, I'm in one of those locations now.
Yes, you only need the one word, but you do need a dragon soul to "learn" it.

Thanks L4L I will do that. I have 3 weapons without their enchantments and I miss them so much.
Decided on the house at Whiterun
There are magic staffs that capture souls . At one time I had 2 but had to discard one. I've forgotten where they are but the guide would have the locations. You cast the spell then make the kill and its sould fills a gem.
RE:soul trap staffs. On page 76 are lists of staffs but no locations.

Thanks Yankee.... Son told me to use the Soul Trap spell...which works as long as Lydia and my companion don't kill the bad guys too quickly. I had a couple of enchanted staffs and was so disappointed to discover I could not disenchant them. I wonder how long I'm going to be running around with an arrow sticking out of my neck. Poor M'khail must have such a headache by now!

Thanks guys---I appreciate your empathy about the fuzzy ones. And Yankee, all I can say is you go girl (or boy?) for liking spiders! OMG! I wonder what it would be like to be okay with them and not so deeply petrified! lol Oh and thanks about the werewolf info---I'm going to try to change into my wolfish form today and see what happens! PS You know how sometimes when you enter a town and someone will walk by and say, "I find your wolfish grin disturbing"? Well, today they're gonna find it more than just disturbing! LOL LOL Lol Tracy
