Mcc, there are mercenaries you can hire and there are other people that you can do favors for that will then help you out. Did you not have a save? I have discovered (I think) that your henchman will usually "yield" and live to fight another day. But you can kill them with friendly fire. I sooooo soooo hate friendly fire.

looney4labs, Oh boy, I must've killed her then I have many saves because my game falls into desktop and cannot be revived, but to play Ansilvund again is a big job. I may check until what point she was still alive. Maybe I killed her during the last fight but now that I think of it I don't remember having seen her in that fight. I know where I lost her, I reloaded when she was still alive but she dies in a fight and I cannot avoid it because If I tell her to stay behind she say yes but when the fight starts she comes to "help". Any ideas?

Mcc, I know you can tell her to go away, but then you'd have to go back to town to pick her up again. You are right, if you tell her to "wait here" she will show up for the fight, and then go back to where you told her to wait. Your horse will also run into the fray and if they die, that's it. They don't come back. There was a fight that I kept dying in. I was able to get past it by loading up on food. I made all the health potions I could and bought the ones I could find but didn't have enough. So after every hit I ate and ate and ate. I haven't been to Ansilvund yet, but is there another tactic that you haven't tried? You can also turn the difficulty down if you are not already playing on the easiest setting and then turn it back up after that fight.

Oh well when everything fails and since I am playing in the PC, I cheated and revived her I died also several times but it is always possible to reload and win the battle. However I couldn't keep her alive in this particular one. I don't think it is possible to give her anything like better armor, maybe with some spell is possible to heal her but the spell I have apparently is just for me.

Mcc, in the talent trees you can take a talent that allows you to heal others.
How did you revive her?

Hey Annie I am ready for wives support group! LOL Farkas calls me "dear" all the time which I hate, and like one of you guys mentioned, there wasn't even a wedding kiss or hug, he just ran out of the temple like his hair was on fire. sigh.... Anne G--I wanted to say that I'm excited about the idea of mods in general for Skyrim, but that will be fun if someone makes marriage mods where you can have different dialogs, or whatever personal changes each individual would like to have in their little "marriage". Also, I'm in awe of you for modding---til Skyrim came I was playing Oblivion for the past four years and using tons of mods, but was always too intimidated by the construction set to learn how to make them myself. Can I ask where you learned to mod? I'm not ready to give up on the idea of finally learning to one of these days, especially if the new construction set is better than the old one! Looney--Good for you for killing that "thing"! You go girl! That's one heck of a fight so you should be proud of yourself. btw---on a more serious note, I wanted to add that it's really sad to hear that some of the people on the forums are so hateful. I can't think of anything that scares me more than a person who is filled with hate and prejudice. Tracy

Re the people expressing prejudices -- do they just not see themselves as being the same as the bigots in the game?
And I think the first thing the Skyrim Wives Support Group should do would be to send a message to Bethesda -- Send our husbands back to work! Balimund was so much more fun to be around when we worked together in the smithy. Now I'm afraid he's suffering from major depression. We need a petition!

Is there a list of Console commands somewhere safe? Here you go this is the best list of all stuff like this that I've found. Also, in response to the question about any male players getting married etc. I have a lovely wife who is very dutiful and I, of course, have Lydia following me around and I've picked up Jordis the Sword Maiden so when I go to my house I have 3 females standing around and the best thing is that they don't talk unless asked to.

Oldman Mcc, where did you buy a dog? I couldn't buy one cos I'd be worried it would get killed. I did buy a horse but I never use it cos the silly thing insists on running into the line of fire and dying and then I have to reload and fight the guys again.

Hi again guys. I need help with what i guess is a glitch, and am wondering if you've had this happen too. I bought the house in Markarth but my Housecarl never appeared, and I'm wondering if I can put him "into" my game/house by using the console? Also, I'm thinking he knows all about my marriage to Farkas and split the scene before he could end up in my clutches next! LOL. Tracy, hoping whoever he is he'll end up being cute.

So, lots of Skyrim gossip.
I somehow managed to lose my first carl by, I think, not asking her to follow me. I had intended to go back and get her but she was gone.
So far I'm liking the game, but missing those lovely huge dungeons from the other two games. Maybe I just haven't found any big ones yet, but so far nothing really grand. Early days yet, though, and the architecture is so different. Kilt me a dragoon, got me some gold, gonna buy a house and get some stuff to put in it, too.
I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Tracy, did you check all around town? I found Lydia upstairs in her own room in my house once when I thought she was gone.
Oldman posted a link to console commands one page back. It might have what you are looking for.

You're doing great, Hagatha, just think long and hard before you get married.
What I miss most from Oblivion is my Enemies Explode spell. Where is Delphine Jend when you need her.
Oh, and the opening music, which I always felt was about ME and how wonderful I am.

looney4labs,
I bought my dog in Markrath.
In my case the one who gets in the line of fire is my Housecarl, I don't use much the horse because he is not much faster than walking.
Tracy,
I have the same problem all the time with the Housecarl, she disappears, sometimes she dies, I have to be checking all the time if she is following. I had to play a difficult part over and over because she kept dying and wouldn't stay behind even when ordered it. At the end I cheated ad revived her. If the Housecarl she dies can be revived cheating with the Console but if she disappears, as far as I know there is nothing to be done apart from reloading a game when she was there and making clear she should follow you.
