Hi all. I just don't want to go digging through huge threads, lol.

Years ago I played Morrowind -- partially. Also years ago I played Oblivion -- partially. I'd like to give Skyrim a try. I don't need all those other games loaded, do I? I have no idea where they are anymore.

I gave up on both of them, even though I loved them, because in Morrowind I kept getting lost, and Oblivion I kept dying. Now I'm kind of in a mood to wonder around a vast empire, and I hear it's a great game.

It's a new game and is completely standalone.

You don't need to install anything but Skyrim itself (well and Steam since it's a Steamworks game).

Great, thanks! I think that will be my Xmas present to myself if I can find the money somewhere, lol.

Just make sure your computer specs are up to the game, Jean. The requirements are quite a bit more than the older games.

Where can I find the specs listed? My computer is 3 years old so it should still be ok, I hope.

Minimum recommended ram is 2 and I have 3. My video card is a Nvidia GEForce 9600. I have AMD Athlon dual Core Processor 5050e 2.60 GH. So I think I meet the minimum but not sure how well it will run. Hmm.

Thanks Anne!
