I am on a mission to save two traders. I need to get them to the other end of Darkwood. We have encountered this monster that came up from the ground and he is throwing rocks at me. How do I kill him? All I have is a sword, an axe and bow. None of these are working. I noticed there is a cave behind him that is blocked by a force field or something.

It's been a long time since I played this game, but I think I remember failing miserably at this quest! This is a pretty good walkthrough that hopefully will help... The part about the Earth Ogre is towards the bottom. Trader Escort Quest

Well, maybe abandon this quest then and go on to another one. I think that's what I might have done. The nice thing about some of these games, you don't have to complete every quest in order to continue playing the game.
