I'm having a problem with spliting my monitor screen to have a walkthrough and the current game I am playing side by side.
I know how to split the screen with, lest say the walkthrough and windows word.
I,m running windows XP and have a ViewSonic VG2030WM which I guess is a 19" monitor.
When I get the walkthrugh on one side on the screen and I go back to the current game, I go to options and try to uncheck Full Screen mode. The reply that I get is your monitor is set to low for windows mode. I have tryed setting it to More and have gone up to 1680x1050 in graudual increments.
Windows display settings give me the options of less and more. This is a little confusing, less = a larger displas and more = a smaller screen.
Do some games only have a full screen option.
I'm playing Dark Parables - Rise of the Snow Queen

Unlike many casual games, Dark Parables - Rise of the Snow Queen does not have a Windowed mode. At least I don't see one listed in the game options. I think the Full Screen only puts black bars on the side of the screen when you're using a widescreen monitor.

I assume you're trying to do something like ***this***, which might work with a windowed game. But I don't think it will work with a game that has no Windowed option.

If the game is Alt-Tab friendly, you might be able to play it while having your walkthrough open in the background, minimizing with Alt-tab whenever you need to consult the walkthrough. Alternatively if you have an old laptop you could have the walkthrough open on that while playing the game on your main computer.

Jenny, Thanks for your reply. I think it will do well on other games that have a window mode option. I'll just do the Alt, Tab
with game if I need to seriously look at the walkthrough. Thanks again.

Some video cards can run 2 monitors. So it might be possible to have the walkthrough on 1 monitor and the game on the other monitor. I have my work computer running 3 monitors. The windows desktop is on monitor 1. My service data is on the monitor 2 and internet explorer is on monitor 3. I have 2 video cards installed to do this and can run 4 monitors Most good video cards will drive 2 monitors.
Some laptops can also run an external monitor this way also. You have to setup the computer for expanded desktop.
