Tracy, there are now lots of mod downloads, so there might be some new things to spend money on.
There's always a point in every Elder Scrolls game where you just don't need to collect any more stuff, isn't there?. I spend a lot on arrows these days but that's about it.

Maybe someone should invent a mod where you have to pay every time you quick travel (as a donation to Sheogarath?), and the cost goes up as you level up. I do miss the system in Morrowind, where quick travel has to be earned through exploration.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha--I know what you mean. I feel like I've bought everything and anything I can, and although I still LOVE wandering and looking at the scenery, I wish there were more things to buy. And more quests. Not that I'm not grateful for the way Bethesda tried by giving you lots of extra quests for each faction, BUT, I'd rather have the quests be more meaningful. SIGH I like your idea about paying for travel. I love quick travel in general, BUT, I miss traveling in Morrowind and getting up on those scary bug-things to pay my toll. PS I think I might have to play Morrowind some more in between spurts of Skyrim. I don't think I actually "finished" it, but I did finish the Main Quest and the Mages Guild. I never could choose between the House Telvanni and the Redoran so I did Telvanni last time---maybe next time I'll try Redoran and at least have some "new" quests. Tracy, in love with all the games, just wishing she knew how to tinker around in them!

"BUT, I miss traveling in Morrowind and getting up on those scary bug-things to pay my toll. " That doesn't ring any bells for me, Tracy. [Which isn't saying much, of course. I have a memory like a sieve !!] But what scary bug things ??

Mad, remember the Silt Striders? I always thought of them as Stilt Striders. You climbed up a ramp onto the basket on their back and off you went. Otherwise it was a boat, or overland, unless you'd discovered some of the Propylon Indices. I don't think I ever found all of those, but it was fun to look for them, and it sure helped with the travelling.
And of course there was the infamous Boots of Speed + enchantments for those inclined to fly.

Awww, now I miss Morrowind. I love that game. Not the expansions, but the original game still seems just right to me. Dark, dusty and mysterious. I never actually minded travelling overland for everything. But Skyrim and Oblivion seem bigger and I'm less inclined to walk. I was thinking about downloading the mod that disables quick travel for my next game.

Edit: And I forgot the Mage Teleportation services in Morrowind. Anyway, I like that system better than quick travel. You have to work for it a bit.

Hi hagatha Ahhhh !! I never considered the Silt Riders to be "scary bugs". Although thinking about it, I suppose they might appear so to some people Yes, I made good use of the water walking and flying abilities and especially good use of the travelling between Mage Guilds but I really very much enjoyed exploration "on foot" and every time I play Morrowind I revert to it I much prefer Morrowind to Oblivion. [Never did complete Oblivion.] But will have to wait to pass judgement on Skyrim until I have a machine capable of playing it Cheers. Mad

Oh Anne G it's great! I'd love to have it to download---my character would like to move right on in! LOL Thanks so much--I know others will be using this too but it feels special to me and I want to say thanks. Tracy

I have now played over 600 hours of Skyrim, I'm embarrassed to admit, so I've decided to immigrate to Morrowind. And while I'm gone, will you all please stop marrying Balimund! He may be an unhygienic layabout but he's my husband. Byee!

ROTFLOL!!!! Have fun in Morrowind Annie! If I happen to run into you I'll say hi. PS I promise Balimund will be true to you---I found yet ANOTHER guy in the Skyrim mods named Bjorn, and OMG, he looks just like the cute blacksmith from Riverwood, except he's single! I used the console to make him marriageable, and right now he's in my little study in Breezehome, cooking up a batch of something---hopefully it's not poison! LOL Anyway, he's delish----now I just have to get on making a dialog mod so we all can hear something more from our hubbies than, "Here...wouldn't want you going into battle on an empty stomach!" LOL! Tracy

Don't fret, Annie. Balimund is safe from me for now. I've married Marcurio from Riften. He's currently keeping a chair warm in one of my house mods, an orc longhouse near Iverstead. The mod players might be interested in this one. It's called Spouses Can Live Everywhere. http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11370# It gives you a spell you can cast that turn any place that you're in into a home that you can send your spouse to. They live in it just like it was one of your purchased houses. Seems to work very well.

Thanks Tracy and AnneG! Hope to see you in Morrowind. I've never played it and I'm sort of nervous.

You just might. I never got very far into that game and I should revisit it one of these days.

Hi all,
Well I just found a new helper named Sarah in Whiterun. She is just a normal NPC in a dress with nothing but a daggar. I thought it strange so I went to all the Skyrim sites and even googled her and she is no mention of her anyplace.

I am going to use her for a few battles to see how she acts but thought it unusual that I can't find her mentioned anywhere.

Annie---i was too because I never played Morrowind really all the way through until last year so I was a total newbie, but there are so many great sites along with GB that have lots of help and info, and it really is (for me at least) a great game that I found totally addictive once I got into it! Another thing that might help is there's a great strategy guide. I found mine on ebay but maybe another GB'er would have one here on the Trading Post. Hope you have fun w/ it! Tracy

I absolutely LOVE Morrowind and have played it all through more than once - plus lots of mini plays with it as well The very best site (I find, anyway) for help with the game is HERE Not just a walkthrough but great detailed help [UHS and Banshee both also do really good walkthroughs.]

Thanks Oldman, let us know how she works out. She's pretty worthless. Every battle she gets in she kneels at the first sign of trouble and I have to go rescue her. I went back to Lydia.

Has anyone had any problems today with Skyrim crashing? There was an update this morning, and twice when I've tried to play, after 5 minutes I crash to the desktop. Has anyone experienced this?

JeanK, have you updated any mods you have running?
According to the forums, some folks are having your experience while others are playing with no problems.

I don't have any mods running. I do, however, have Curse Client which I updated for World of Warcraft. It mentioned something about Rift and Skyrim, but I didn't pay attention since I never downloaded any mods for it.
I just checked to make sure Curse hadn't installed anything and it hadn't. So, nope, no mods running for Skyrim. You said other people are having problems?
