Interesting. I kicked in hoping that it will eventually lead to a new LSL down the road.
It's just too bad that the creators have to beg the corporation for permission but that's Corporate America for you.

Well, looks like I will have to do without some of the newer games then, BrownEyedTigre. I can't afford to fund all these Kickstarter projects that are springing up

I hope that no member feels that they must contribute to any of the kickstarter programs. We are only allowing the news to be shared here as it pertains to the Adventure Gaming community but there is no pressure or expectance that you all are to contribute. Ana

I don't feel pressured either. After all, in the end, it boils down to choice .... "To fund or not to fund " But first the trend towards downloads rather than disks plus now another towards pre-funding ?? These trends are definitely upsetting my gaming applecart. If I download a game and don't like it, I can't pass it on to someone who would like it. And if I pre-fund a game and then don't like that ?? Tough !! OK. I'll have helped a developer in both instances but I doubt my purse will be able to take that kind of strain for long EDIT And now I'm probably off topic as well

You know, I've actually never played a Leisure Suit Larry game. Like Broken Sword (which I've mostly rectified now, aside from the soon to be played BS4) it's one of those series that just passed me by when it was out. I just came across this video - Al Lowe Speaks - and it kind of made me want to support this one as well. I was really impressed with Al Lowe and what he had to say. Also the fact that he mentioned and supported Jane Jensen made me like him even more. Will have to check my budget and see if I have enough. If not, I will definitely pick up the game once it's made.

I don't feel pressured by the announcements here. I only wish I had paid attention to them sooner. From the Kickstarter projects themselves I garner a selfish hope for adventure games in general and independent games in particular like DSJ and Cognition. Think how much more engaging some of the promising one person band games (a Shady Brook expanded comes to mind) could have been with more dough? I made a comparison to NPR because I derive benefits, albeit different benefits, from both NPR and adventure games. I don't want either to disappear, and I like idea of helping to make them happen. I also like boxed sets. I can't believe how many I have given away over the years on the theory they take up too much shelf space. Silly me.
