The answer depends on where you are downloading the game from. Big Fish? GOG? Somewhere else? They all have different procedures.

If you know know to install patches for games, the procedure is mostly the same.

When the options comes, just choose download and save as - then choose desktop. Then let the downlod finish.

Some games (maybe all of them?) require you to register your email so that they can send you a code for the game. Then you put the code into the game when you start up the come. Nearly of these downloaded games require you to be online when installing the game.

Buying from Steam or Gamefly (former Direct 2 Drive) may be a bit different, though.

Adventure gaming is fun smile

It really depends on where you're downloading from.

With Big Fish, you download a small downloader file and run it, which starts up the Big Fish Game Manager, which downloads and activates your game.

GOG gives you a link, or to a picture of your game on a virtual bookshelf -- click the picture of the game and you'll see a collection of files you can download individually. Or you can use their download manager, but I've always downloaded the individual files.

Some places will send you an email with a link to the file or files you need to download. An activation key may be included in either the same or a different email.

It all depends on where you're downloading from.
