I finished Whispered World. I really liked it, although I thought the puzzles were a little on the ridiculous side. The cool ending was surely a surprise.
Anyway, while I am waiting for my copy of Book of Unwritten Tales to arrive, I came across a game I bought years ago and completely forgot I had it. It was unopened on my book shelf hidden behind other games. It's "Voyage", and I must say it is one heck of an annoying game IMO. It took me forever to finally land on the moon. After exploring the surface I got so confused I finally decided to print out the WT, but I am wondering if I really want to even continue the game. Need some feed back on this one. Continue or forget it?

Do you like other Kheops games? To me they are all masterpieces. If you did not care for the others, it may just not be your cup of tea.

Haha! I had the same problem with it. The character kept suffocating from lack of air and throwing me back on the load screen. Then there was all that jumping around to get anywhere. And later on there was a music puzzle straight from heck (and usually I don't mind music puzzles). You also had to collect multiple copies of items to combine, but were limited to the number you could pick up so there was lots of back and forth. IMO it's definitely not the best of Kheops' games.

Play a little longer to see how you feel about the combining. Some people liked it because they could get humorous results.

The Kheops games are not for everyone. I too found them not so much frustrating, but tedious. You have to do a lot of work to be able to proceed a few screens and then you're back faced with another daunting task for which the solution is anyone's guess. In Mysterious Island I had to check the walkthrough and most of the time I found out I had the right idea but didn't combine the items in the correct way or do certain actions in the correct order.

I actually thoroughly enjoyed the game with the exception of the already mentioned "musical puzzle", which was in my opinion absolutely (and I mean absolutely) unfair to 95% of players.

And this comes from a musician with perfect pitch so I was able to solve it quite easily. smile

It wasn't just the pitch. You also had to distinguish different major, minor, and 7th chords that had the same pitch.

But the music puzzle was optional.
And as far as I remember only the 3rd level was really hard because you weren't allowed a mistake.
At the first level you could just try until you got it.

I liked the game a lot. smile

If you didn't do it you had to do a lot of other tedious stuff instead. There were too many "chores" in the game to suit me.

I found another game I have not played called "The Sacred Rings". Having trouble installing it on my puter with Vista so trying it on my puter with XP.

The Aura games were very good. I enjoyed the first one better but this one was good also.

{ I had the same problem with it. The character kept suffocating from lack of air and throwing me back on the load screen.}

I didn't even get to the point of being thrown back to the load screen. Suffer from motion sickness and all that thrashing around made my eyes twirl as well as stomach, had to get a game save for after that point.

After that I just loved the game, partly for the color and humor. I grant you some of those puzzles were something else again.

I had forgotten that Sacred Rings was part 2 of Aura. Loved that game. Anyway I installed it on my XP computer with no problem. Have no clue why it would not install on my Vista cause it says on the box 2000/XP/Vista.
