I have the game from GOG installed on my laptop running windows 7....it'll load up and when I play, just crash. Sometimes after mere seconds, others minutes (never may I get further than the Wizard.

Anyone know what I can do to salvage this?

NDLVR,

Is this your problem? King's Quest 8 exits to Windows with an error report? That link will take you to one of the forum threads for the King's Quest series at GOG. If that doesn't help, try another one. Somebody there may have the solution for you.

Gil.

It doesn't give me an error or anything, just poof crashes, but I did just post my problem in the forum there

ON GOG's forum, I read some posts for different problems and tried the solution for one and so far, it seams to have worked for me. I right-clicked on the icon and changed the security settings to allow full control for all, and so far *knock on wood* it seams to have solved my problem

Yay! Glad to hear it, NDLVR! People on the GOG forums really are helpful when you've got problems. Go back and thumbsup whoever gave you the solution if you haven't already! grin
