This is driving me nuts.
Using Win7 64 bit, the issue is not basic spec requirements.
When trying to use old saves made in the same game program the new install on this machine does not recognize the saves. It seems to be consistent with windows install.
For instance any game tried using a DosBox install simply pasting in the old saves they work. This includes, GK1, TLJ, Broken Sword 1+2 and Under A Killing Moon.
When installing windows versions of Broken Sword 4 and Culpa Innata saves created from on my XP system are not recognized. Overseer used an indexing file to recognize saves. To add an old or borrowed save you had to make a new save and rename the one you wished to insert to overwrite the one you just made to allow it to be recognized. With that in mind I tried that trick it did not work. The usual naming in sequential order did not help. I had no issues with these saves when using them on new XP installs.
Thinking it may be a location issue I reinstalled each game to the C: drive. Such as C:\Culpa Innata. That placed the save folder in the root directory instead of My documents. It made no difference.
I decided it was a windows 7 issue with saves made on earlier operating systems. Wrong again. I installed Lost Horizon and pasted in saves made when the game was installed in XP. They worked.
Anybody have any idea as to what is going on?
