Woohoo and bravo

I just found out last night that you can use any combination of skills. That has helped me live a bit longer on Hell mode. wave

AAaarrghh I'm stuck at the Butcher. Can anyone give me a few tips on how to beat him? I'm playing a witchdoctor, and I have the scoundral as my companion.

I almost got him down once but just as I was getting ready to give the killing blow he killed me. I know about the healing wells, and try to get to them on time, but he keeps pulling me in with those chains. scared

Ahhhh Jean, he is tough. What level are you? I wonder if you used the Templar if the Templar would run in and act as a "tank" for you allowing you to stay away from him.

I noticed that the floor section that is going to erupt glows before the flames came up. That helped me to get away from him to a safe spot and wait til he came back.

Do you have vitality gear? It usually lowers damage but with the bosses it is sometimes a case of outlasting them. Are there defensive capabilities you aren't using that you can activate? Are you using the biggest health pots available to your character? Moving constantly seems to be important in a lot of boss fights. Also, son pays attention to the pattern/skills the boss's have which allows him to tailor his attack. He will die a couple of times while figuring out the pattern, but then he has him. Have you checked out youtube videos of your class?

If all else fails, farm a bit and catch some levels and try again.

Thanks, Looney. wave Maybe I'll try the Templer. I haven't been using him as much because I think I die more with him, even though I gave him points to heal me. Grrr. I'll have to check out my gear since I was concentrating more on intelligence for the spells. Maybe I've got some vitality gear.

I'm level 16. It should be high enough to get him but maybe I have to tweak things a bit, and, maybe I'll farm and get one more level.

I finished off Diablo on Normal. It took a long time, but got it done. Like Looney says you need gear with vitality. I was focusing on strength for damage, but was dying to much.

Now I can start Nightmare at lv 33.

Congrats Lindy thumbsup

Most of the time I try to gear for damage but I also carry some vitality gear with me for use on those hard hitting folks. That does mean that I have to return to town to sell more often but I'd rather do that than die constantly lol

I started Inferno with my monk today. Oh Silly Me...I was fine on small mobs, but when those elites with groups found me, OH MY. So went back to nightmare to play with my barb. wave

Wooo Hooo, Soot and I beat the game on Normal tonight.

I have individually beaten it on Nightmare and Hell but I'm thinking it'll be awhile before I can add Inferno to that list. puppy

Congrats Looney!

I'm finding Nightmare to be a little bit harder than I thought it would be.

I haven't been back to the game in a few days -- taking a break from the Butcher. I'm thinking I'll only do normal mode all the way through. Generally once I see all there is to see in a game I'm not interested in redoing it for harder modes.

Actually, If you play cooperatively, they have made the game easier. Originally, for each person that joined a group, the bad guys got more life and dealt much more damage making solo the way to go. Since that was not what they intended, they nerfed some of the additional damage..thank goodness!

Jean, the key to the butcher is someone to tank him and move move move. And enable defensive. Sometimes I have to stop an attack on him and run because the floor starts glowing and that means I'm going to be blazing. He is not easy, for sure but I have so far been able to down him that way.

Now, Inferno is just not happening <sad>

WooHoo, hubby and I finished Nightmare last night. After figuring out the key to Rakanoth, everyone else was fairly easy.

Now time to start Hell mode. Alas, hubby is leaving today for NE so our sortie there will have to wait.

Last night I was playing with my son and he died during the fight with the Butcher. He said that the game wouldn't let him back in. Is this true or did he not know how to do it. This was his first time playing the game. I killed the Butcher on my own and he did get the credit and loot.

Lindy, isn't it fun to play with your kids?

Players cannot release and telebanner back in on Boss Fights. If you have time, you can resurrect the player as long as he/they don't release. Most bosses keep me too busy to do this, but I have managed it on occasion. If you down the boss, the dead player does get credit and can get their loot.

During normal fights players can revive and telebanner back, but not in boss fights. wave

Looney, how do you resurrect a player? I'm playing a Monk. The game right now is having big problems. It kicked me off and unable to log back on.

Yea, servers went down but they are back now. I'm betting they will be down tomorrow for maintenance.

When a player in your party dies, you can run to his "marker". It looks like a little grave with a cross and click on it. If you are not interrupted in a few seconds, your party member will get a button on their screen to resurrect.

It's not a problem normally, but sometimes in a boss fight I get interrupted before I can finish the resurrect. wave

Yayyyyy! I put the game down for a few weeks and started again last night. I used the Templer and we took the Butcher right down. It took a little bit of time, but we did it! tomato

I'm in Act II now and have the opportunity to use the Enchantress. I think I should probably stick with the Templer since I'm a witch doctor and need someone to tank for me. What do you all think? think

Hi ya JeanK thumbsup and bravo

I find the key to lots of the bosses, but not all, is to move move move. It takes awhile but I live longer...usually long enough to bring down the boss.

I use the Enchantress on all my toons just because I love having her turn my enemies into chickens. rotfl

I think the templar would be a good tank but I've never used him.

I started using the Enchantress too, since I have the Gargantuan now to tank for me. If needed I can always try one of the other ones.

I'm on the quest to get the wizards blood. My only complaint is the saves are so few and far between in this Act! I like to explore an entire area, so it takes me extra time before I can actually take a break.

JeanK, yes, that is my complaint too. Son told me to stop clearing the area each time and go direct to the quest..get the quest complete save and then go back and explore. I've been trying that and it works pretty well. luck

Thanks, Looney! Now why didn't I think of that? slapforehead By the way, is there any point in the game where we can have more storage in our bags? I'm not talking about the stash we leave in town, but our bags. I have to teleport out every 15 minutes or so to clear mine. I pickup everything!

Jean, Your bag cannot get any bigger, but if you need more room can make banker toons.

You can buy the extra 2 tabs. Again from son, he told hubby and I not to pick up any whites/greys for that very reason. The exception is that gems and some books are white but we pick those up of course. The only things we pick up are the blues and yellows and the very rare orange.

Whew, just got Belial. I had to switch over to the Templer as my follower. The enchantress just didn't have it.

How do I make banker toons? Can I have them in the same game as my witch doctor? How do I give them stuff if not.

Maybe I need to read the instructions, lol.
