Of course, the day after I ordered Yesterday on Amazon, Interact listed it for pre-order. The same thing happened with JULIA. I told myself to wait but.....

One question, though: Does anyone know if Yesterday has a limited amount of activations, as Captain Morgane does? I don't want to be caught in that situation if so.

I have to say I am not happy about this. The game does indeed have an activation code that can only be used 3 times. I'm not liking this trend at all. It does say you can buy other activations, but why should I have to keep paying for a game I've already paid for? It defeats the whole purpose of getting the boxed version in the first place.

Oh, well, in other news, the game seems good so far.

You're kidding. You have to activate online and then pay for additional activations? Believe me, they can keep their box. I'd like to play Yesterday but there's no way I'm leaving a game installed on my computer to avoid putting up with that. Pendulo definitely just lost a sale.

Yeah, I know; I wish I'd known about it sooner. If I'd known, I would have eventually purchased the download version when the price came down. At least with Adventure Shop, I know I can request more activations, even though it's a hassle. Still hoping GOG eventually gets some of these games, as they did The Whispered World. As for now, I do not like this new trend at all.

Thanks Venus for this information. Developers and publishers should have understood by now how important these DRM matters are for us honest paying customers. Quite a few on-line stores have indeed got it and offer games DRM free. And just look at all these recent Kickstarter campaigns where the "DRM free" promise seems to be decisive for many people to open up their wallets and support a certain game.

Like you I'm extremely tired of these activation DRM-schemes, regardless if it's a download version or a physical copy. I simply won't give these people my money. Pity, since I really enjoyed Pendulo studios two last games and was very interested in how they would handle a more serious subject matter.

Do both of the boxed copies of these games need on-line activation or is it just Yesterday?

I haven't heard of limited activations on Gemini Rue.

Oh well they lost a sale here too, shame I was looking forward to playing it as well.

Thanks BrownEyedTigre - pleased about Gemini Rue as I already had bought the disc version! As for the disc version of Yesterday & those of any others needing on-line & limited activations, I really don't see the point of buying them unless they're far cheaper than the download versions!

I would have snapped up an activation free disc version of Yesterday but as it is, although I'll probably get around to buying the download, I'm not rushing & it's not going to be getting my money so soon!
