I wanted to give a heads up to those of you who don't already know this, but BFG's punch card coupons don't just have an expiry date. They also have an expiry time.

I was browsing through my BFG's email folder last night and discovered that one of my coupons was due to expire yesterday. I needed to buy one more game to fill up my punch card, so I decided to use the coupon; however, when I input the coupon code on the purchase screen, it had expired. I contacted BFG Customer Service and received a reply this morning. Apparently, the coupons not only expire on the date mentioned in the email, but they expire at the exact time the email is sent from their system. IOW, if the email is dated at 12:00 noon and the expiry date on the coupon is August 31, the coupon would expire at 12:00 noon on August 31.

BFG very kindly replaced the expired coupon, but I will be sure to check the time as well as the expiry date from now on.

Very good information, Susan. I only learned this myself a couple of months ago and it's important for others to know this. I avoid having to think about this by always using my coupon codes at least one day before the expiration date.

You're welcome! This is the first time I've waited so long to redeem a punch card coupon because, since I cleaned up at the BFG half-price Game Club Credit sale in May, I've been buying a lot of CEs, earning a lot of free games and not buying enough SEs to use up the punch card coupons as quickly as I normally would.

I needed 1 more game to fill up my last punch card but, when I input the coupon code with an expiry date of August 29, 2012 on the shopping cart screen, it said the coupon had already expired because, as it turns out, I was about 2 hours too late when I assumed it was valid until midnight.

BFG replaced the coupon with one that never expires, but I just wanted to alert everyone else to check the time the email was sent as well as the expiry date.

I've got a backlog of free game codes too, for the same reason you mentioned. It's great they gave you a code with no expiration date.

This also happened to me recently - I redeemed a coupon code on the last day before it expired, but it told me that the coupon code was invalid. So I immediately contacted BFG CS, and they told me that in future I also had to be aware of the exact time they expired. Prior to this, I also had no idea there was an expiration time on these coupon codes, so I think you brought up a really good point here.
