Can't install game downloaded from Adventure Shop..help??

I have purchased and played 3 games from The Adventure Shop and things worked fine.
I bought and downloaded Dark Fall yesterday using their Downloader and it shows that it downloaded the game, but when I go to install it, I get a message that "an error has occured and this application cannot be launched".
So, I'm guessing something went wrong with thee download and I want to download it again, but it won't do it. It is showing as already being downloaded. How can I uninstall it and try again? I can't find any trace of it on my computer.
Any advice for me?

The failed install may have left junk in your registry. Try Revo Uninstaller to see if it can uninstall the remnants or Ccleaner to clean your registry. You may want to try the manual download if the automatic downloader/installer doesn't work. Instructions ***here***. Do you have XP? The system requirements listed on the ***Dark Fall page at The Adventure Shop*** don't list Vista or Windows 7. The game itself would work fine on Vista or Win7 if played inside Virtual PC, but I don't know if the installation or online authentication would work.

I am trying to download it now manually instead of using their Downloader....which still takes about 8 hours to dl!!
It's actually the newest Dark Fall/Lost Souls....that should work on Windows 7 right?
I can't find any files on my computer belonging to this game. I just turned off my anti virus program too, because it keeps warning me that it is a virus.

This is what The Adventure Shop says about the "Insert CD" message: 03. "Please insert CD" error message
This error message can appear if you either:
- did not download and saved all the game files from the confirmation email in the same folder, or
- downloaded the same file more than once, but you have not erased the old one, thus creating duplicate files.
Please make sure that the file names have not been changed, especially if you have made several download attempts of the same file. For example, if there is a bracket with numbers at the end of the file like (2), erase the number and the brackets. The download files on your hard drive must have the same name and extension (either .exe, .bin. .zip. or .rar) then proposed as default in the "save as"-window.
Example of a duplicate: TheWitcherEE_Setup-5(1).bin instead of TheWitcherEE_Setup-5.bin.
This is how your game files should look like in your folder (example):
TheWitcherEE_Setup.exe
TheWitcherEE_Setup-1.bin
TheWitcherEE_Setup-2.bin
TheWitcherEE_Setup-3.bin
TheWitcherEE_Setup-4.bin
TheWitcherEE_Setup-5.bin
Etc...
If you are afraid of doing it wrong, we recommend to delete ALL the files downloaded and restart from scratch, making sure you follow the instructions provided.
After you have downloaded and saved all the files, you navigate to the download folder and double-click on the the .exe file to begin the installation. Do not try to extract the .bin or .zip or .rar files yourself.

I saw that on their website, but, I can't find any of the files to check it.
It's ok. It's downloading manually now......says it will take 9 hours! I just hope that if I end up with duplicate files, I can find them!
I think the problem might have been my Anti- virus thinking the Downloader was an infected file.

Unless the Adventure Shop says the version they're selling works on Windows 7, I wouldn't count on it being compatible. You can try contacting Adventure Shop and asking them. If they're selling the updated version, maybe they just didn't update their game description. I think the problem might have been my Anti- virus thinking the Downloader was an infected file. That could be a problem too. Apparently it didn't interfere with your previous games, but virus definitions may have changed since then. I didn't actually notice that the version they are selling is a different version. I just looked up the requirements on google and it said: Windows XP/Vista/7. Thanks for pointing that out to me. I thought all versions were the same.
So, it won't be able to run on my Windows 7 even if I actually get it installed?
I have sent them an email, it just usually takes a while to get an naswer.

Maybe they just listed the original requirements on their page even though they have a newer version of the game. Oh....my apologies Draclvr.....I should have known! Thanks so much for that thread.....I just discovered it so it will make catching up on older games much easier for me now. Update: I downloaded Dark Falls/Lost Souls a second time using the manual method and a free download manager. It actually downloaded in 5 hours that way, as opposed to 9 hours using Adventure Game's Downloader! I followed the directions and found the exe file and it installed perfectly and it WORKS!!! Yay I can't thank you enough for your help Jenny. Now I just hope the game was worth it!

Well, I'm glad it worked. I thought you'd downloaded the original Dark Fall (The Journal). Dark Fall: Lost Souls isn't the same game. There was an updated version of The Journal, but Lost Souls is a complete reimagining, with horror-movie-type things you never saw (or wanted to) in the original Dark Fall.
