Me again, I finally got rid of all the old Deponia files and have reinstalled it, all seems to be OK with the installation, but I am now having trouble picking things up. I have read the instructions in the docs file, and understand about right and left clicking, but it seem very random, I have been trying to put the socks in the pan on the stove and I have the hand in the middle and am in inventory but I can't pick up the socks, I can pick up the mousetrap but not other items in the inventory, this was happening in other areas where I had to open doors I had to walk away and click on something else and then come back to get it to work, is this a glitch? is there a patch or is it just me as always??

Are you using Marita's walkthrough? http://www.gameboomers.com/wtcheats/pcDd/Deponia/Deponia.htmDid you find the list? If you press the spacebar, does it show the objects you want to pick up? Does this part work? The cursor has 2 gears that show an icon of the action of those gears. The left gear is activated by left mouse click and the right gear by right mouse click.

If it's taking 30 seconds to get any kind of reaction, I'm not surprised you're finding it difficult to find the hotspots. It should not be that slow. Do you have the system requirements for the game? (especially for the video card and system memory) Minimum system requirements: Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7, Processor 2.5 GHz (Single Core) or 2 GHz (Dual Core), 2GB RAM (4 GB recommended), 3D graphics card compatible with OpenGL 2.0 compatible with 512 MB RAM

I'll bet monbron's computer is using the graphics built in to the G620 which is one of the low-end Sandy Bridge processors. I put one on my mom's computer and it's fine for casual games, but is not so fine for anything more demanding such as a newer adventure game.

I'm surprised that they put in a G620 processor when you specified that you were a gamer - even an adventure gamer. It's a fine processor, but not particularly appropriate for gaming. Perhaps whoever built it for you installed a stand-alone video card. Go to your DXDIAG and click on the video tab and let us know what it says.
Assuming you are running Windows 7, just click on Start and then type in DXDIAG. Then click on the listing at the top of the search results. Click on the video tab and see what it says.

Can't find a video tab do you mean display in which case it is Nvidia Geforce 210?? I think it may be the mouse, because I have discovered if I left click x2 I can pick stuff up and also to get stuff from the inventory I have to click very quickly and firmly and it works perhaps its time I retired this mouse and brought in a new one, are there any types of mouse that are particularly good for gaming I just use a plain old optical one at the moment.

Yes, I'm sorry, that's what I meant. That's good... it says your builder did install a stand-alone video card, albeit, not a very good one. I'll let Jenny and Inland weigh in on whether this low-end video card could be causing your problems because I don't know. It does have the required 512 MB of video memory and supports Open GL 3.1

I could very well be the video card, unless someone else with the same has played the game without issues. I had some problems with the demo, but the game I purchased (from GOG) is playing just fine.
You might try the in-game graphics settings to lower the resolution, it will play windowed but if it's graphics related it might help a bit.

Tried turning off extra graphics, but no change and now the games is skipping dialogue, so I guess thats the card again. What would you recommend as a good graphics card, not that I want to change so soon bt at least I will know what to look for? That would depend on your power supply, a GF 210 only requires a 300 Watt PSU - you'd need something larger to do an upgrade. Unfortunately the only to find out what you've got, is to open the case and read the label. The link below has an image of what you'd be looking for (it's a 450 Watt PSU) - PC Power Supply
