The Elder Scrolls IV: The Shivering Isles
A Short Boomer Review By +Oblivion+
wave -----------------------------
.. A strange gate appears in Nibben Bay. Within is a torn realm of Sheogorath-a world where Mania and Dementia reign. Do you have the strength to survive his trials, to tame a realm fraught with paranoia and despair, and wear the mantle of a god? In Oblivion's latest expansion, you will test your strength and willpower to it's limits!
-----------------------------------------------

Finally! The official expansion has arrived! For many months I had been waiting to play and I got it the day it came out. This game is so good , I don't want to give you any more information than what is above, for then I will spoil the journey in wish I hope you might enjoy. So lets start off with the basic mechanics of what there is to see, what to do, and the awesome characters you'll meet(since there are no additions to the game play itself, you can look on an original review of Oblivion for the controls and and abilities)

Graphics and Sounds
Graphics wise, this game looks amazing. The new character models and building models are phenomenal! There is one scene in the game where a mage is performing a ritual, in which she calls up to the sky. Thus, lighting forms and a monster is created before your very eyes! The enemy in this game is also very interesting. Known as the Order, they wear silver, crystal like armor that looks brilliant! Overall, there are some many new things in this game along with new building models added that make it a bit more lively. Also, there are many new sounds for the various types of monsters that exist.

Quests and Adventure
Wow, now for the fun part! The quests and adventures in this game are awesome, you'll always be entertained and off your feet!I don't want to give to much away, but there is one intriguing quest where you here a rumor about a castle. Of course, I had to go and to my surprise, I found ghosts there. I began fighting and killed a couple, I was about to kill another one when I realized it didn't attack me. I wondered: What's going on? It turned out that the castle had once been in a battle against another people and that the castle lost because some of the soldiers and captains were being cowardice so they were doomed for eternity to relive the battle until someone fixed the problems! It was an amazing quest. So much fun involved!

Characters and Cities
The characters in this game are some of those most memorable you'll ever see. You see, in this realm, A prince named Sheogorath rules. What I forgot to mention is that he is the Prince of Madness, so his realm is twisted and turned. An example of this is his two main cities, Bliss and Crucible. Crucible is a dark, creepy, cold place while Bliss is more of a calm, collective, but as well as strange place overall. Because of this, the character's personalities range dramatically! The Prince himself is also no snore either, his dialogue is hilarious, it had me laughing non- stop!

Additions and Enemies
There are numerous additions of weapons and armor in this game. Actually, this time around you can gather items to forge weapons and armor! They look very cool and their stats are great! The enemies in this game are totally new. I mean you got the order ( cool knight race) which is the main enemy, and to many more to name. The wilderness is almost exactly like Morrowind, with the mushrooms, and plant life!

Overall
This is a Great expansion to Oblivion that should not go quietly. I loved it and I find my self not wanting to go back to the mainland now, which scares me laugh . I give it a 93%! I was left wanting more!

This sounds great, Oblivion! I've been wanting to play Elder Scrolls Oblivion for awhile, and now that I've heard about this expansion, I know I'm going to HAVE to get them both! smile

Thanks for the great review!
