The moon is actually more useful than the sun since the moon gives us light at night when it's dark. The sun only gives us light during the day when it's already bright out.

7. It probably depends on what you call a World's Fair but I would guess the Crystal Palace Exhibition in London. Don't know the real name and don't know the year. Probably around 1870. I read about it in Bill Bryson's At Home.
