Yes turned everything right down or off. Even lowered the res to 800x600, but all that seemed to do was display the game in a box in the middle of the screen rather than actually change the screen res itself. Don't know what is taking up the processor time as it's still the same pretty much static game it was before from what I saw.

Still hope for Sherlock then :-)

Hi macmac.
The GOG version that sells for six bucks is NOT Realmyst Masterpiece Edition. It IS MYST Masterpiece Edition, which came out before the original REALMYST. I have the boxed version of RealMyst and it works very well on my WIN XP computer. Every once in awhile, I play REALMYST again, and I'm always looking for something I've missed previously. Sometimes I even find something. The graphics in REALMYST are utterly AWESOME. I WILL put off buying the REALMYST MASTERPIECE EDITION from STEAM until the price goes down significantly, although I'm anxious to see how much better the new version is as compared to the original version of REALMYST. Happy Gaming, and WELCOME to GB.
Sandy

Sanford, thanks for clearing up the confusion. Unfortunately I have another problem now...Steam does not accept my payment data because I use a military (APO) address. I have no problem with Amazon, etc. Hope steam someday gets up to speed on the US military market.

macmac, you can check out. See this here from the Steam website:

Quote:
I have an APO / FPO address - how should I enter my information?
AP addresses should use CA as the routing state - AE addresses should use NY. If you encounter any difficulty with your purchase, please contact Steam Support for assistance.

Macmac, I thank you for your service to our country. I happen to be a Korean War veteran, so I know how good it feels to be thanked by individuals for MY service.
I sure hope that you can get the STEAM payment thing straightened out. I myself have bought many games through STEAM and I've always been satisfied with their products as well as their services.

Sanford and Brown-eyed Tigre, thanks to both of you. I will continue to try to get something going here. My problem is that I receive mail through an AP0 address, which is acturally a California address as you pointed out, but I am physically based in a country in Southeast Asia which doesn't use a standard format for address and zip codes so Steam doesn't want to accept either. Tried to go to their support, they want and entirely different login/password just to get in to support. I'll try again later. thanks again.

Yes, you do have to set up a separate support account - a PITA if you ask me. But they will eventually get back to you.
