Does anyone have experience ordering bird seed and supplies online? I have an uncle who loves taking care of his wild birds and I'd love to get him a gift certificate for a seed supplier so he can buy what he needs, when he needs it.

I just go to Menards to get my supplies, the cost of shipping is too high for me online unless you can find a free shipping place. Btw, it's a wonderful gift as the cost of feeding my wildlife is crazy high this winter but I feel bad for them.

That really is a great gift idea Mary. I never got my supplies shipped either. I get a lot of my seeds from Walmart, Kmart and Agway. I agree with Ana that this Winter is crazy expensive. I get bread and suet also. I make peanut butter wrapped in seeds that they really like, to help keep them warm. I also get bags of peanuts. Many birds like them as do the squirrels! Sorry I didn't mean to go one and I won't go into the fruit. That really is a sweet idea for a gift.

If I lived near my uncle, I could make a run to his favorite supply place and get him a gift card, but I can't. I think I'll find something else for my uncle for the time being.

Mary, most places will give you store credit if they don't have an actual gift card system in place. I've done it in the past. It doesn't hurt to call them and ask.

I have used that website for my dogs for various things over the years but unless they have a major sale it's a bit pricey. They are very reputable though.
