I bought this game at steam and just started playing. After joe lines up out of his cell I click on the inmate behind me to talk to the guy. A menu list of topics come up but they are unclickable. The game becomes frozen. Anyway around this?

I haven't had much luck Googling problems with the game crashing.

Could this freeze be something that can happen if you do things in the "wrong" order -- or if you try to talk to the guy before you have some information or some object in inventory?
Are you following the MaGtRo walktkhrough? If you are, then the above is probably not the problem.

The game doesn't have high video requirements -- it only needs "GeForce 200-series/Radeon 300-series/Intel HD 3000-series or better" according to the system requirements I found. But if you have Intel graphics or other low end graphics with shared memory, check to see if there are any video options you can turn down.

You don't say what version of Windows you have, but sometimes using compatibility mode can help, even with new games that claim to work on the latest Windows.

And it's possible your antivirus might be blocking some aspect of the game. You can try adding the game exe to your antivirus' exceptions list.

I had the same problem and forgive me if my short term memory deceives me. I either restarted the game and it cleared up or I uninstalled & re installed or uninstalled and re downloaded the game. Sorry all I can remember is that whatever I did I got through that part.
