I was happily playing away on my computer when all of a sudden the screen turned yellow-green. I don't think there's any red in my display. Could this be my monitor? The computer still works but it looks so strange. Help, I would go out immediately and buy a new monitor if that's what's causing the problem.

It could be a problem with the monitor.
But first check that the monitor cable hasn't come loose.

Well Jenny, just as I read your post, the color came back as mysteriously as it left. I don't know what it was, but I will check the cables. Thank you.

It's either your monitor, your video card, or some connection between them.
If a cable has come loose, that could cause intermittent connectivity, and be a fairly easy fix -- just reseat the cables (pull them out and put them back in). Best to do it when the computer is off, though it may not matter.

I hope it's not my video card, getting a new monitor is an easier fix for me, it's fairly old because it's square and I like it better than the wider monitors of today. I'll check all the connections and pray. Thanks again.

If cables are ok and sticking with Jenny100 line of solution, check to see if you Video is not loose, they sometimes come just loose enough to give you this type of problem.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, but it was the connection to the monitor that came loose. I reconnected and all is well again. The thought of being without my computer even as long as it would take to get a new monitor was giving me hives.

Glad it was an easy fix.
