We're right past the beginning of the game, and we want to work on our shooting. We walk through the shooting gallery and nothing happens! No targets appear. What are we doing wrong?

Ray, I had a problem with this too. I walked through a couple times before I realized I had to wait at a certain point and eventually the targets will appear in the windows. After quite a bit of shooting, you will hear a voice telling you to go on to the next station and repeat the shooting. This took a long time to get through for me--something like 45 minutes. It was hardly worth all the time invested. You might want to try a bit of it.

Hi Ray.......I had the same thing happen. Took a while for the targets to start showing up. It was one heck of a lot of fun for a while. I found, though, that when I went back to practice my skills I could never get the firing range to cooperate a second time. Have fun with this great game.

Thanks, everyone. So far we're loving the game, just very puzzled at the utter lack of targets in the Hogan's Alley.

The first time that I have played the game I managed to get the targets but after a uninstalling and reinstalling the game later in time, the targets did not pop out. I think that you have to do a FULL install not the standart one but I may be wrong. Well hope this help and have fun with the game. wink

Ray, don't worry about the shooting, you'll get plenty of chances to fire that gun! smile

Can one skip this section and still finish the game? I am having problems too. How long must one wait? I have wandered the gallery and waited. This thread is so far back, don't know if this will kick it up front again. I don't have the manual. I can draw the gun but don't know how to fire. Wanhhhhh!

I don't have it installed anymore - but, I did find this posted here:

From the walkthrough:

Game Controls: The game controls are very simple and easy to use. The game is basically mouse-drive: the left mouse button moves you through the screens and lets you interact with objects and people; the right mouse button brings up your weapon. Do you want to run? Just double-click on the left mouse button. The tab key activates your KIA (Knowledge Integration Assistant) and lets you adjust your settings, save/load games and quit the game. You can also get to your KIA quickly by left-clicking on McCoy with the spinning green cursor. It doesn't get much easier than that!

Heres the entire walkthrough -

Well, so much for that - I think I misread your post. But anyway... you may want to try and "draw" your gun while your in the shooting gallery.

You can certainly skip the shooting gallery. It doesn't do much for you and was not worth the waiting for the targets to appear.

Thanks Inland and Pokey pony. I don't have the manual so this helped a lot. Especially knowing I can skip this section. I drew my gun, but all were afraid to come out. Hmmm...didn't figure out how to fire it though. Guess I'm just so scary, all pop-up targets hid from the mere threat of a woman in man's clothing with a gun in the Police Station of Blade Runnnnnner!
