When Malwarebytes offered me a free download of their new Anti-Exploit, I said, sure.
Dumb me.
Malwarebytes said it was stable and maybe it is but it didn't start off very well with me.
My problem...and it may happen with any of you who use GOG...is that it completely screwed up my GOG downloader.
I would click on a game to download and instead of the game going into the waiting, open downloader, My Shelf would open again in a new tab.
That was it.
No download, nothing except a duplicate tab with My Shelf, and it was just because I had downloaded Anti-Exploit only a few hours ago that I thought to check and see if that was the cause of the problem.
Sure was.
I turned off Protection and my GOG downloader works beautifully again.

I'm uninstalling it and then I'll go hunt for a contact link somewhere to let them know I didn't appreciate that.
Nicely, of course. grin

Gil.

Thank you, bless you! I didn't plan on getting Anti-Exploit, but that is SO good to know. Yeah, nicely, but not TOO nice!

Once again, weeds are my life!

Well, honestly, Drac, I'm not too bright.
I must have had four tabs open before it sank in that something was off somewhere.
I was right in the middle of writing a support ticket to GOG when the penny dropped.
Believe me, I was so glad I hadn't sent it!
I did, however, add a note to the Downloader sticky in the forums in case it happens to anyone else.

Edit: I doubt that Malwarebytes will do anything about it, first because this seems to be a program they've bought from someone else and second because they have a tab for Exclusions.
Me, I've very bad about knowing how to use tabs like that.
I'd rather just do without Exploit, especially since I've done alright without it so far.
And yes, darn it, 'alright' is one word. grin

Gil.
who consistently says "ain't", another perfectly good contraction AFAIC
