Ya see, Jenny, its like this - Tex himself is not in the vent ducts but has sent this wee robot about 8 - 10 inches tall into the shaft to enter these rooms on 2 levels as there may still be pockets of toxic gas or fumes there and he (TEX) could die, so to get or pick up that passcard one needs to extend the arm on the robot to retrieve whatever one is trying to pick up. I am getting sore fingers (my own) from manipulating and moving around with that arm to find the darn passcard - I have both those walkthroughs and consult between them in order to figure out what I need to do/find but have also found and picked up some things not mentioned in them and hope I may need them at some time or another. So, I hope AHuber or someone else who has played this one comes along to tell me just how to locate the card so I don't have to go back and forth from ducts to lasermaze just to be able to see my inventory and see if I have it or not. Thanks for the help. Hey Al.............. Love, Betty Lou

Next question - I am moving too sloooooooowlyyyyyyy.......should I speed up my mouse/trackball speed or is there a setting within the game options that will help me move faster - I am carrying a ticking bomb and can't get Tex moving fast enough to drop it down the Toxic Waste Chute, let alone then have any time left to skeedaddle far away - anyone know the answer? Thanks Love, Betty Lou

Betty Lou, it may just be that your computer is too fast for this--have you tried lowering your grapics accelerator?
And please don't post the same question on two different threads--it really fouls up any attempt to search for answers in the future...

Yes, there are some things you can try to speed things up. In the options menu there is a setting for walking speed, slow, medium, or fast. There are also settings for mouse sensitivity and screen resolution. I'd try increasing walking speed first. If that doesn't do it, reduce screen resolution. Also remember you can hit the "R" key when Tex is moving to make him run. Its been about five years since I played the game, but I think you HAVE to use the R key here.

Thanks Al. I was not aware of the "R for run" hotkey, missed it somehow. Also I thought you said there were (speed) settings for walking slower or faster somewhere before, but was not sure where or how to reset them. Thanks again Love, Betty Lou <img border="0" alt="[kiss]" title="" src="graemlins/kiss.gif" />

New question - I am in the Mayan Temple, found my way to the room with the Crystal Sound Puzzle and cannot figure out just how this one works - I 'tapped' on #1 and #2 and they went black but when I go to tap on #3 1 and 2 light up again - are they supposed to do this? If so then why can't I get #3 and #4 to go black - this one is going to be hard for me to accomplish (when I get it figure out how it works) as I have no sound with this game, therefore have to rely on the w/t from Steve Metzler.....hoping for some help here Love, Betty Lou

Yes Jenny, that is it. But with no sound (to hear it) and not being sure just how to work it as stated above, can't figure out how to 'play the puzzle' And there does not seem to be a cheat code for this one. Love, Betty Lou

Betty Lou, I think the idea is that you take the hatchet from your inventory and strike each crystal, in the order of the numbers...

Yes, Jenny, that is correct, but when I strike #1 & #2 there is a 'reaction' - they turn black, then when I try to strike #3 they light up again and then strike #4 and nothing happens.....I must be doing something wrong and can't figure out what it is. Love, Betty Lou

OK, I kind of remember this one. The crystals are in matching pairs. You have to strike one, then its mate, until you clear them all. This is a trial and error puzzle, and sound does help. You need to keep notes on what matches what to whittle things down. Its a bit tedious, but not that hard. I haven't looked, but I'd be surprised if a decent walkthrough doesn't address this puzzle (unless its random, again its been a while since I played it). If all else fails send me a saved game. I'll get you through.

Oh Albert, you are so kind. I have emailed my last saved game.....don't know why the w/t solution does not work for me unless it is randomly generated, then nothing will help me except your saved game. Thanks Love, Betty Lou
