i am trying to play this game and it is very confusing to me .......could someone help i have been in the motel and room 5 and room 6 and i am now in the cave or something and am trying to put the puzzle pieces together for the first stick but my walkthrough says to start in the gas station i have the stick but i am really confused about what i am supposed to do when i get the right puzzle pieces together....walkthrough is by eileen caraher...help

The collectable objects in Shivers 2 are prayer sticks known as "bahos." Carrying one is a constant drain on your life essence so you should dispose of it ASAP. You should find a symbol near where you found it to identify it. Take the bahos to the canyon (the cave is a different place) and look for a matching petroglyph. When you find the right one, click on it and solve the tangram puzzle. Then take the bahos to the kiva at the far end of the canyon and place it on the altar. Now you can return to find another.

The petroglyphs in the canyon will attack you so it makes sense to save your game before entering. Then when you've searched and found the proper petroglyph, make a note of where it is and restore your saved game. Now you can go directly to it with little loss of life. After placing the bahos on the altar, use the map transport feature to return to town bypassing another trip through the canyon.

i found the alter but when i went to put the stick in it disappeared is it supposed to do that

Find the right petroglyph, quickly. The save procedure Tom outlines is a darn good idea. That way you can find the right petroglyph in a hurry. Once you have clicked on the petroglyph and solved the puzzle, go on back through the canyon until you find a locked blue door. Click on the box to the right side of the door and see a skull. Clicking on the skull will open the door to the altar. You can't get in unless you have solved the puzzle.

If the stick disappears, that means you are putting it in the wrong slot. Look for the slot with the symbol that you saw earlier near your bahos stick. Then place the bahos with the matching symbol. When you do that, the prayer stick should stay this time! Good luck!

After you've been to the canyon once, you can use the map transport feature to get to the entrance of the canyon for all the rest.
