Russ, did you look at the table with the weapons? Examine each one. Did you notice the sickle? Perhaps you can compare something to it and discover something. I think you might be able to click on the magazines then. Let us know if this helps. I wasn't able to open them at first either and I think it was because I needed to do something else first. You also have to be able to get a clear picture on the microscope beforehand.

Thanks much for the reply. I examined the bone on the microscope; saw the gold specks, etc. Have not clicked on all the tools, yet. I'll keep trying. This Druids game is proving to quite challenging. I hope I can, for once, finish a game!! "Doc' Russ

Hey Doc, don't despair!!!

Pick up the shard of bone from the machine. Step back.
On your right, about 1centimetre past the bone machine is a microscope. Use the shard of bone on the microscope, fiddle with the control until Melanie says she can see flecks of Gold. Step back.
Go to the table which is now due East (if Mel stuck out her right hand) Check out the tools on the bench. Match main bone with sickle. Step back.
Click on magazines on right of your current position.

Eureka, as they say, "I have found it." Thanks to your help, I zeroed in on the microscope. I discovered that as you click the image into sharpness, you have to keep clicking on the image in the eye-piece. Melanie keeps saying she can't see it, then, at ONE precise place (ONE precise click), she says she sees it, and describes the gold as a 'metalic object' If you don't click first on the dial, then the eyepiece, you don't hear Melanie talk you to the correct position. This game is unbelievably precise (and super-picky!). Tally Ho may wish to expand a bit on that particular section of her walk-thru! Doc Russ
