I posted this in glitches but didn't get any response so maybe it isn't a glitch. I don't know how to remove it there.

Problem: gus is on the roof in the junk yard. I have the cutters for the chain in my inventory but cannot use them. When I click the item and the closed fist, the screen changes but I cannot use the tool. The two loose crates seem to be properly placed and Gus can jump onto them, walk across them and approach the chained crates. Am I missing something here or is this a known problem? I ran into mention of it elsewhere a while back but there wasn't any more information than someone else had the same problem. Sorry, don't recall where I saw it. Not much I can find in a google search. Thanks

Have you tried examining the chains first, without trying to use the cutters on them? Gus might need to realise that they're too strong to remove without a tool.

I'll try both suggestions, but he has said several times that he needs something stronger than his teeth when I click on them. Thanks.

That worked! I am certain I did exactly wht I did before, a few days ago, but it worked this time: Gus onto the boxes, go over to the chained boxes, look at the chains, get message that says he needs something stronger, take bolt cutters from inventory easily and use them. maybe I did need to look closer first. But whatever after reload, this worked just like in the video WT. Thanks again.
