I got completely stuck so checked a walkthrough, and the only English one I could said there should be a portal at the docks near the castle. Turn left after clicking on the submarine and it is supposed to be there.
Except it isn't.
Am I missing something? I seem to have done everything I should have to this point.
A Russian walkthrough shed no extra light.

But the Gagboy refuses to play, no matter what I do. I have sent an e-mail seeking save game help. From the sounds of it, I wouldn't be good at the Gagboy game anyway - never could do Tetris.
