I never had any trouble playing this game but today I clicked on it and all I got was a black screen. Won't play at all. I uninstalled it and reinstall it but that didn't help. What could be wrong. Thanks

What might have changed on your computer between now and when it played successfully?
I assume you've already tried installing and running as an administrator. (right-click the shortcut, and run as administrator)
Are other games affected?

Have you changed your video drivers since the game ran successfully?
Since you had malware, it might have damaged some of the files needed to run the game (like driver files).

If you're using a different antivirus, the new one might be blocking the game.

No other games affected. Should I reinstall my video driver. How do I know what antivirus could be blocking the game. How do I run as an administrator.

Maybe, though if all your other games (assuming 10 or more newish non-casual games) are working and you didn't change the drivers, the problem may not be the drivers.


Which one do you have? Avast and AVG have both been known to block certain games, as have Norton and McAfee.


As I said in my previous post, right click the game exe or shortcut and choose to Run As Administrator.

I'm using Avast and AVG I had Gabrial Knight lock up on me a few times to.

Oh, dear. You can't two anti-virus programs at the same time. I'm surprised your compute is working at all. Pick one and uninstall the other one.

I just have AVG I thought I had Avast. AVG shows on the bottom right hand corner where the clock is does that mean it's running.

If you have it installed, it will be running unless you go out of your way to stop it, even if the control doesn't show up in the bottom right hand corner. Make sure the game exe is in AVG's "exceptions" list.

I haven't been able to run this game all week and haven't done really anything. I've uninstalled and reinstalled I don't know how many times nothing helped. I haven't changed anything when the game was working. This morning I reinstalled the game and it worked. I didn't do anything different. Funny.

Your computer is messing with your head.

I guess it is Jenny. When I opened the game this morning I new it wouldn't run. I sure was surprised when it loaded. Great I hope it lasts.
