Just wondering what would be the best way to switch from WinRar to Winzip without messing up mu computer. I've allways used winzip and I don't like WinRar. I really need some advice on how to do it. If it can't be done than I will stick with WinRar. Thanks
Richard

Hi Richard
You would download the free version of WinZip. You can also pay for it.
Then uninstall WinRAR. Run Ccleaner (if you have it). Then install WinZip.
Hope that helps.

Or if you don't want to pay $30 for Winzip, just download and use the free 7zip. That's what I use. Jenny has posted links to it here, but here it is again.

+1 for 7-zip - I never use anything else these days.

One possible advantage of Winzip would be if you are used to the interface and have a lot of trouble learning new interfaces. I use 7-zip though.

You really don't need a desktop shortcut... if you have a zipped file, 7-Zip will be the default when you right click on it. But Marian's link should work for you.
