Let's wait for a gamer that played the demo to help you.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/12/09 10:39 PM
Trisha, I downloaded the demo and then bought the game. They both start the same way.
The placement of the statues are based on the poem.
Here is the solution:
from top to bottom: in the middle of the top shelf, place the statue of the moon. On the second shelf: on the left, the dragon; in the center the woman and the monster on the right. On the third shelf: the knight. On the bottom, the devil
See what happens on the left of the closet.
Good luck.

Rachel, did you picked up in the house a bottle of petroleum and some matches? You will need to combine these items in inventory with the lamp.
Good luck.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/13/09 06:59 PM
Hi everyone,
I'm stuck in the village, talked to everybody, have coins in the inventory but couldn't get a beer for the man inside. How can I fix the music box? What shall I do next? I need to get the key near the bartender and the magic powder but can't figure it out. I need a little hint please. Chief?
Posted By: Chief
Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/13/09 07:12 PM
Springchicken, you need to find three bells to give to the drunk guy outside the tavern. One of them is near him, the other one is on the path to the knights statue and Konoba has the third bell (he needs a favor).
Good luck.

Thanks a million nanette.
Nope, I did not see the letter. It must be a great hint.

I'm stuck again in the magic forest. The giant is sleeping, I got his magic potion, nothing works here, both ends of the road are blocked. I tried to make her to drink the potion - no luck. Please help.

Has anyone figured out how to lower the 3rd elevator in the Count's castle? I have sailed through the game but with this I'm at a loss.
Posted By: nanette
Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/13/09 11:41 PM
With the 1st elevator you go to the library where you can find a telekinesis spell you can use on the 3rd elevator

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/14/09 12:02 AM
nanette, thanks for the hint. I guess i should of said i need a spoiler. I had already figured out that the only thing I can use is the magic spell, as that is the only thing in the castle and she says she has to use her mind. But after clicking on the case and reading it, nothing shows up to use, either in inventory of magic. How do you use the spell?

lily, look at the shelves on the right of the case.
nanette, after going around the angels huts, I need a little hint on what to do.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/14/09 12:08 AM
springchicken to give the giant the sleeping potion
combine it in inventory with the fish from the barrel

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/14/09 12:17 AM
@ Chief,
You mean with the strange device? That was a nasty one - I thought I the diagram on one of the walls there was the big hint and made all kind of calculations, but it turned out you just need to expand (is that the English word for 'making longer'?) ALL the 9 spikes on the ball
BTW better save before you start tinkering
Off to bed for now, I'll leave Ziggurat for tomorrow - good night all!
Combine both crystals with the controller in inventory and put it on the device
Number the knobs from L to R 1 to 10
Click 2-5-1-3-6-7-9

Go to the right path from the witch and to the crypt. Find a way to pass the bushes and the plant will be near the door.

I hate to say I am stuck. I'd rather blame it on the fact I've been playing for 6 hours without food and water. I am at the Count's castle. Got spell, lowered elevator, exhausted conversation with the dragon, shrunk and took the egg. For the life of me I have no idea what to do next! Any suggestions, other than a nap?
Posted By: Chief
Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/14/09 03:54 AM
lily, go to elevator #2 and use one of the spell on Unit 42 to be able to go through the door.
Good luck and good night.

Hi! I am at the swamp and I have to repair the boat. I have in my inventory the branch, the fish, the empty cap and the rope. I don't know what to do next. Thanks for any help
Posted By: nanette
Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/14/09 10:36 AM
Proper: an empty cup can be filled....
Go back to where you just left the cave and use cap on big mushroom
Combine branch with cap in inventory and use it on the boat

Use the shrinking spell from the witch if you have it to pass under the door.

There is a Dutch walkthrough with screenshots available; if you use Google Translate it can help point you in the right direction
I guess Chief will be adding a much nicer English WT soon, but in the meantime you can give it a try if you're stuck
It still in the making and atm it stops at where you enter the mayor's mansion
Get it here

Hi Chief
I really like this game but am stuck - and at the kind of puzzle where I
always get stuck
I'm in the crypt, "shrunk down nicely", trying to position the balls on the sarcophagus.
And I feel as if I've been here for about six months !!
Can you suggest any sequence of moves, please ??
Cheers.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 07:26 AM
I've been writing a rough walkthrough as I've been playing as well. I put it online for my friend overseas. It seems I've gotten about as far as the Dutch guy has. But here's the link
http://locvw.wordpress.com/I hope it helps someone.
edit: finished the "unofficial" walkthrough. it is rough but it is linear and has some screen shots.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 08:07 AM
I am playing the demo and since it has voices when it starts I just assumed in the entire game the characters will speak in the full version. Is this correct?
It will be a shame if they don't because the graphics are beautiful. I am debating whether to buy the game and if it has speech in the full version I shall do so.
Thanks for your walkthrough will be checking it when I get stuck.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 11:17 AM
Mad, I've been trying to make a sequence, but the starting position of the balls change all the time when I restart from a previous savegame. That makes a 100% solution impossible imo.
I think the best any of us can do will be to send you a savegame from shortly after solving it - you won't miss much, just the cutscene of Eve passing through a blue cave
If you haven't figured it out by now I can upload the savegame to Megaupload
Sherryah - my version only has speech in the very beginning, later on it's text only. Maybe the CD-version will have full speech. Even without speech I liked this game very much though...
Posted By: Sherryah
Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 12:33 PM
Is the downloadable paid version the one that has text instead of speech? Thanks Nanette. I agree The graphics are great in the game.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 01:57 PM
Sokra, after visiting all 3 huts and picking up a controler and 2 crystal, combine them in Inventory.
Go to the glowing hut and insert that combo of controler and crystal on the device.
You have 10 knobs: from left to right on each row, press 2, 5, 1, 3, 6, 7, and 9
Then go to the right hut and talk to Rael Ka.
Good luck.
Mad, to you want a save game? Indeed that puzzle is random.

Hi!
I'm in the villa and need to open the safe. I know the solution from the lili's WT, but I read here in some post that there is a letter with a drawing on the table. For the life of me I couldn't find this letter. Please help.
Posted By: nanette
Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 02:37 PM
The table - or maybe desk - is in the middle of the room and has a tall slender candlestick. The letter is next to it.
You CAN'T pick it up or anything, you can just make out the drawing
Posted By: Chief
Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 02:40 PM
Springchicken, look at the corner of the desk on the right.
It's not obvious that it is for the puzzle but you can see in the drawing 2 empty tubes and 2 full.
But you can't take the drawing.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 09:11 PM
Hi Chief - Love the "self editing" BTW. !!
And thank you for your email and save game stuff
[I only just got chance to get back to my machine so apologies for the delay.]
I see that you have sent four "parts" for the save but I'm not quite sure where to put them in the game files. I can't find anything that resembles save games already there.
The only things I HAVE found that are numbered and so
look like save games are in a folder called "store" and they have what resembles an IE style of icon followed by "htm101/102/103 etc. But they are all called "Documents".
[I have looked in My Documents also but can't see anything there
either.]
So I'm having to ask for further help, please
[And thanks to you, nanette for your offer of a save game also
]
Cheers.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 09:21 PM
Mad, when you are in The Legend of Crystal Valley folder, then click on "Bin" and see the saves.
If you open any saves, they have 4 files.
I'm as lost as you. Maybe I should send my self a new save and check what happens.
Chief.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 09:42 PM
Hi Chief - and thanks for such a prompt reply
However ....
When I open "Bin" these are what I see ....
cfg
data
help
Microsoft.VC90.CRT
setup
Plus a load of other items called :
Application Extensions
PYD Files
and 1 x DAT File
I've clicked on them all but can't find a list of saved games anywhere amongst them
[If you need to throw me over to "Bugs & Glitches" so I don't use too much space up on
this board, I won't mind
]
Cheers.

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/15/09 11:17 PM
Mad, at a guess you're using Vista? Vista has a nasty way of hiding many savegames (I speak from experience and chucked Vista after 2 frustrating months)
1. Click the round blue Start thing in the left corner
2. Click Control Panel
3. Click Folder Options
4. Click the View tab
5. Click Show hidden files and folders
6. Click OK
Now do a search for for instance name.loc in station C. That will hopefully give you the location of your savegames and you can tinker with the savegame Chief sent you.
Don't forget to reverse the hiding proces once everything is OK - or if it didn't work out of course
I hope this helps!

Re: Legends of Crystal Valley - 03/16/09 02:35 AM
Hi Chief - and thank you for your time, trouble and email
It appears I shouldn't have bothered you at
all but I wasn't aware that The Legend of Crystal Valley was classed as a "casual" game.
The thread I saw announcing its release was on the
Adventure Games Discussion Board.
It is also listed in our Latest & Upcoming
Adventure Games.
[And I actually thought hints for casual games were dealt with on the Casual Board - but I don't see it mentioned there .... all the hints for the game are being given
here.]
So, feeling rather perplexed now
nanette ....
I have WinXP Home. I have never tried and do not want to
ever try Vista !!
Cheers.
